Mowing the back lawn, lawnmower picked up a stone which went right through a full length patio door smashing it to bits. We got the glazier round who fixed it. Next time I mowed I put a sheet up, but somehow a stone flicked up and shattered a bedroom window! I always mowed away from the house after that.

I was tidying up and chucking toys willy nilly into the big wicker basket where they lived. One wooden toy hit the bottom corner of the (stupidly enormous) TV screen and broke the whole thing.

I told my husband the toddler did it😅, he replaced it and I never confessed the truth🤫

Cat and sofa both now long gone many years ago, but we had a stain on the sofa from... erm... pus out of a burst abscess on the cat's arse.

We have a permanently grubby bit on the sofa (it washes out when we take the covers off) from a dog who licks the sofa as a means of relaxation.

The toddler tricycle one reminded me of working in a school right when those little micro scooters first appeared - colleague comes into the staffroom with a huge graze on her chin and we were all horrified and concerned until she explained she'd borrowed one for a go and gone over the handlebars on the school playground.

In terms of sheer expense - MIL turned the heating off to save money when she headed away for a few weeks - cold snap hit and the pipes froze, burst and brought the ceiling down in three rooms of the house.
