lucozade on the carpet left a stain

when i lived at home with my father i put my foot through the wall =p

DH painting the kids' bedroom, in a shade of purple the purple-ness of which can only be explained by saying that a 4 year old girl selected the level of purple.

Full can of emulsion paint spilt on the new carpet. I could have killed him.

DH also managed to slice the very tip off his finger by loading the washing machine and somehow impaling his finger on the door catch.

Also various lovely pendant style lampshades have met an untimely end by him walking into the buggers (he's 6 foot 7)

I slipped on a wet floor (that I'd just mopped) and put my foot through an internal door once (thankfully not glass!)

Both of mine revolve around fire.

DH putting the curtain in one of them halogen free standing up-lighters as it was in his way....with the bloody thing on. Errr why can I smell smoke. Oh shit the curtains are on fire.

I was washing the bedding and took a phone call. Chucked my phone in the basket after and somehow loaded it into the washing machine with the bedding. Turns out phones aren't waterproof and it somehow managed to scorch the bedding as the battery swelled and set on fire. Lucky i was in and managed to turn the machine off as soon as I realised. Knackered the machine though as everything stunk of smoke after being washed so I had to replace it.

Either putting a nail through a gas pipe, or drilling into an electric cable in the wall 😂

My DIY skills have definitely improved since then!

Dd while drying her hair wondered what would happen if she put the nozzle on the carpet. It melted it !

I've said mine on previous threads, but I painted a new greige carpet cherry red. It had been raining for days and I was so eager to get on with painting the cd units. I'd never used spray paint before but I did have an inkling that it wasn't a good idea and did it anyway. Thankfully I laid some sheets down but of course with I took the sheets up I saw my mistake outlined there on the carpet. I'm happy to say that it took a good few years but it is all finally gone. There wasn't enough of it in any one place as would happen with a spoiled paint tin, and it seems to have naturally let go of the carpet over time.

Painting the living room and tipped a can of paint on the brand new sofa 😭 DH had to go for a walk to cool down before he could talk to me 🤭

Not so much to 5e house but whilst cleaning out the fridge one of the glass shelves slipped out my hand... the mess it created had to pull out the fridge freezer and oven to get the bits of glass out

My DD tried to dispose of melted wax down the sink.

Don't do it. I had to disassemble the pipework under the sink. Plus the resultant flood from the washing machine exit pipe blew the electrics. Fortunately no major damage, but not the evening I planned that day.

Husband was cleaning the cooker hood and when unhooking the front panel he dropped it into the induction hob, smashed to pieces. I loved that hob 😭 the replacement wasn't as good

I scrubbed at a scratch on the fridge thinking it was dirt and made a huge scratched patch.

Cat literally wiped her arse along the back of the sofa. I was so disgusted I went at it with soapy water and forgot fabric would water mark, which it has, badly.

Cat and sofa both now long gone many years ago, but we had a stain on the sofa from... erm... pus out of a burst abscess on the cat's arse.

DP placed a chair in the bath to drill a hole for a picture. One of the chair legs punched a hole in the PLASTIC bath🙄😆

Brother started running a bath, then went off and fell asleep, for 2 hours.

I only noticed when it oddly started raining in the dining room below.

I forgot to wash the oven out after spraying cleaning spray onto a stubborn area. It ignited and then caught the oven seal and burnt half of it away. I only use soapy water in the oven now and got an air fryer to cook more things in instead.

I've got a lovely impression of the iron on a fairly new carpet.

didn't see the dog come in from the garden after a nasty bout of diarrhoea, wiped its arse on my new beige carpet the entire length of the living room

Dropped a full can of blue paint in the hall- fortunately it was water based and we had karndean so it mainly wiped off and I just had to repaint. Had a water leak on our bedroom ceiling that looked like a massive cock and balls and when I tried to paint over it it looked like I’d drawn it on the ceiling

Ex H cut a sandwich directly onto wooden worktops. The bread knife went through the worktop like butter.

The worst part was it wasn't even our house and we were renting.

When we moved out we left a big decorative wooden chopping board over the cut and luckily the landlord never noticed. He sold the house after we moved out so a lovely surprise for the new owners

Brand new kitchen Lino floor. Took a hot tray out of the oven, burnt through the old oven gloves so I put it down on the floor perfect rectangle hole in the middle of the kitchen floor

Riding a child's tricycle in my dressing gown and slippers, foot slipped off pedal and trying to stop went through the patio door ......

DH needed to ease a door to go over a new carpet, cut the top off instead of the bottom. We laughed about it first time he did it but by the third time I was just a little over it
