Plumber damaged bath while fitting it

Could I please have opinions/advice

I’m in the process of having a full bathroom refurb done.

Yesterday the plumber fitted the bath in place and put wooden battens all around ready for it to be tiled.

At the corner of the bath i’ve noticed part of the bath has been damaged by a screw from underneath when they have fixed the bath in place. The screw has gone through the wood and pierced the bath from underneath causing cracks.

The plumber has placed a piece of wood over the top (presumably so I don’t notice it yet) and when I lifted it I saw it. However it’s clearly noticeable.

The cost of the bathroom is £6200 for the plumber to do the renovation. £280 for the plaster, £300 electrics and the bathroom suite cost £2690. So I feel really disappointed seeing that it has been damaged knowing how much I’m paying.

Here are some photos.

What would you do?

@PrincessConstance either you're misunderstanding, or you're advocating fraud. Which is it?

Wow @PrincessConstance if you husband say its OK then it is ? Christ, absolutely disgusting in my book,-you should be ashamed

Should be ashamed of a returns policy?
Even if you tell them the installer or the customer or the dog damaged the product they will still exchange it. FOC.

Call the supplier.
Hi manager this bath has been damaged.
Ok, bring it back.
The bath is handed back and swapped for a new one.
Returns paperwork is exchanged. The damaged product is then sent back to the manufacturer.
Paperwork is again exchanged.
Bath arrives to replenish stock.
The end.

We had a new toilet seat, someone broke it. So explained the issue at his branch, and they sent it back to Heritage for an exchange.

Has anyone had a bath resurfaced recently? Our wall and floor tiles are still in good condition so I am reluctant to disturb them by having the bath ripped out. The bath has one tiny chip and there are also patches of roughness developing. Any advice/experience to share?
