Just been browsing rightmove and found this quirky house

I'm not sure if I love it or hate it. It's certainly interesting. The decor would give me a headache. It's a strange one.

Absolutely love it

So depressing. This money would get you a small flat where I live. Sigh!

SleepingStandingUp · 16/04/2022 13:24

Love it

FingersofFish · 16/04/2022 13:29

I really like it!!!! Shame I'm not based in that area this is right up my street and would only need minor changes for me to live there.

@Anotherpassengerwantstogetoff

That weird textured wall behind the cooker will be a grease grabber.

The bathrooms, and the weird brick /tile ? Effect ceilings would be a no too even if it wasn’t opposite a high school.

The brick effect ceiling would be a no for me too. That would have to go.

I really like it, but I live in a quirky house now, albeit one that's about a quarter the size of that one.

My husband hates yellow, so we would probably need to redecorate every room.

Meh, it’s a bit mish mashed with the colour scheme, en-suites and floor plan. It’s got bags of potential but I’m not getting good vibes as it stands. No garage and can’t gauge the garden, it doesn’t look particularly big. The price is good but expect it’s probably high for the area/market as is everywhere at the moment. If it’s going to auction that can raise a number of issues too. Do love a fixer upper though and if that was round here in the right area, for that money I’d prob be interested, assuming it just needed aesthetics.

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 16/04/2022 13:52

Love the decor - anyone brave enough to not do all beige is ok with me. But the weird mezzanine above the bed is too strange, not sure why it would be there, and don't like completely open bathroom to bedroom either. The hammock is cute, great for a kids room if they want to hang out.

Dibdobdoo · 16/04/2022 14:03

I think they've tarmaced over the whole garden to make parking space and probably rent out spaces to staff from the school across the road. I can't see why else it would show 13 vehicles parked in their driveway on Google maps.

I like it, and there's some lovely furniture. Looks like it has been a family home at some point - I wonder why it's going in auction?

Honeyroar · 16/04/2022 14:13

I quite like it, but would be putting some partition walls up and making those bathrooms separate rooms!

RosesAndHellebores · 16/04/2022 14:21

It's of its' time and doesn't look as though it's been a family house for some time. I suspect a great deal of money needs to be spent on it.

VioletVesper · 16/04/2022 15:22

I’m mostly surprised that a house that big is only in council tax band B!

I didn’t notice that. How on earth did that happen?
GiantKitten · 16/04/2022 15:40

@Notarealmum

Gosh you get a lot of bedrooms and bathrooms for your money in Clitheroe don’t you.
Yes and no…Grin

@Somanyquestions1984

Imagine the heating bill
That was my first thought too, every time I see a massive house.

I wonder if that's a mistake, it seems very low.
