Just been browsing rightmove and found this quirky house

I'm not sure if I love it or hate it. It's certainly interesting. The decor would give me a headache. It's a strange one.

I love the house, and I love some of the wallpapers- but they dont go together.

Like the cosiness of it- which doesnt really work with regency type decor.

I'd buy it

Dibdobdoo · 16/04/2022 11:59

Maybe I use the word 'quirky' incorrectly. I just meant a bit unusual with some characteristics I consider to be a bit strange about it.

I really like it (the hammock would have to go, and I'd make the bathrooms more private, but they're minor issues). A good price for 7 bedrooms with those lovely views!

SockFluffInTheBath · 16/04/2022 12:05

@Blogdog

Not for me I’m afraid. The open plan bedroom-bathrooms give me the ick.
I don’t like it either. I like the bones of it but I’d decorate, no garden though so that’s a huge no.
SoupDragon · 16/04/2022 12:16

no garden though

There is a garden, it just isn't in the photos.

SoupDragon · 16/04/2022 12:26

I've found it on Google Earth and the location is awful! Those pictures have been taken very carefully.

On Google maps it looks to have 13 vehicles parked in the driveway.

They’re not exactly hiding it. I’ve just looked on Streetview, it’s not that bad.

Me too! It's bad enough hearing my dh shitting in the en suite, I don't want to see it too?

Otherwise it's a cute and quirky house. I need to move to clitheroe though. Bloody bargain!

Beachsidesunset · 16/04/2022 12:38

Six bathrooms! Seven bedrooms!!!

Dancer47 · 16/04/2022 12:38

It's gorgeous and what fantastic views!

CharlotteRose90 · 16/04/2022 12:38

Hahaah I know the family who have this place. Can’t wait to send them the link. It’s a lovely house that was used as a small hotel partly.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 16/04/2022 12:46

I love it! I might change some decor, and I'm not wild about the open plan bedroom/bathroom, but I could live with it. Its just the kind of rambling country house I'd love and its in a lovely locations (despite being the wrong side of the Pennines).

rc22 · 16/04/2022 12:46

I like a lot of things about it but for such a big house a lot of the bedrooms seem tight and the bathrooms are all a bit bonkers!!

SoupDragon · 16/04/2022 12:47

Of course they are hiding it 😂 All those stunning views when the reality for half the house is this

The Streetview link is part of the marketing on the same page as the pictures. How is that hiding it?
SoupDragon · 16/04/2022 12:50

Picture was too big but it seems to have posted the text anyway 🙄

The view from the front is of a large, modern secondary school

Across the road from the house.

Imagine the heating bill

IncompleteSenten · 16/04/2022 12:58

It's ok.
Just needs redecorating and a wall putting up to separate the bathroom from the bedroom.

Staffy1 · 16/04/2022 13:01

If it was around the guide price, for that space, views of green fields and size of the place, I wouldn’t say no.

Notarealmum · 16/04/2022 13:01

Gosh you get a lot of bedrooms and bathrooms for your money in Clitheroe don’t you.

Blert · 16/04/2022 13:03

The open plan toilets are the stuff of nightmares.

I can’t figure out if it’s a MacMansion (new build designed to look old) or an odd conversion/extension.

Anotherpassengerwantstogetoff · 16/04/2022 13:07

That weird textured wall behind the cooker will be a grease grabber.

The bathrooms, and the weird brick /tile ? Effect ceilings would be a no too even if it wasn’t opposite a high school.
