House without bath - would you buy?

We have a small bathroom that needs updating. Our house is a three bedroom home. We tend to have showers not baths and are thinking of having a new bathroom that only has walk in shower (rather than shower over bath). The only thing stopping us though is whether this would significantly affect us selling the house in the future. Would lack of bath be a huge negative for home buyers do you think?

No, I wouldn't, unless the price was right to want to replace the bathroom and there was room to for a bath in.

I have a bath once in a blue moon, but when I do it will because I'm not well or have an injury that wants a good soak, I'm not going to buy a house that means no bath ever.

Also if there's no bath, where do you wash the carpet from the car boot when a bottle of milk leaks and stinks the car out? Ok a bit specific, but a real thing that happened to me and there are other examples of something that needs washing in the bath. E.g children and pets Grin

However, create the home you want to live in. Why are people so obsessed with the on sale of their home? It's a place to live, anything else is a bonus.

No, we looked last year and automatically discounted anywhere with only a shower as unsuitable.

I need a bath. We just redone our bathroom and had a fleeting moment of getting shower only but decided shower over bath much more flexible.

No, I've crossed houses off for that reason. I wouldn't want the expense and hassle of having to get one put in. My heart sinks if I look at a house that seems really nice and then I see one of those walk-in showers instead of a bath.

@Allthereindeersaregirls

I wouldn't buy a house where the bathroom had been recently updated and didn't have a bath. I would buy a house with an outdated bathroom, whether it had a bath or not as I could update it to my taste.
Same here.

Yes. Just ripped the bath out and put in a swanky walk in shower. We love it !

I would be disappointed if there were no bath, but it wouldn’t stop me buying the house if I loved it. I would just replace the shower when I could.
