The vendor of the property we were buying (6 weeks into the process) accepted a higher offer from another buyer, He said ‘she wants to move rapidly’ and doesn’t seem to grasp that the time it takes is just that. He’s lived in the US most of his adult life and can’t understand why there’s a delay. He even took a call from our surveyor on Friday and accepted a booking from them, knowing all the time he had accepted another fucking offer.

The house is a wreck and needs doing up massively and we just can’t borrow any more or it eats into the budget to do it up.

We’ve spent all weekend on RM trying to find something, as well as doing some drive bys.

This is the house we’ve lost: www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-93332942.html

We were 12.5k under asking price, this other buyer has gone in at asking and given him ‘cash as a sign of commitment’. The house is his mum’s and he’s taking her to his home overseas to live with him.

Our chain below us is only 2 with bottom one a cash buyer so we just need to find somewhere!

So exhausted with this.

They rejected our offer. The house is up at fixed price so we offered fixed price. So had someone else so she accepted theirs as they were first.
I am guessing she maybe was hoping for an over asking price from us as she dropped into convo someone was v interested, just sorting finances. She didn’t act like someone who had sold but did a massive sell on the house.
She knew the other offer was pretty much there before she let us view. FFS.

Soooo hate this

I think people are getting grabby as the market is rabid, round here at least.

Sorry you are having to sell op. I lost my job 2 years ago and we were forced to move to a cheaper house.

Offer was accepted on one but vendor messed us about - turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We both realised that a slight drop wasn't going to give us what we wanted so we ended up doing a radical move to the shitist, shit hole known to mankind.

It was bloody hard for six months (the filth, oh the filth!) but a year on and we are so happy.

Good luck, hope you find the perfect house for you Thanks

One of my sons lives in Rushden and there are buses to Sharnbrook, but there are nicer bits of Rushden tbh. DS looked at one in Croft Way and there was a lot of road noise from the A6.
I do hope you don't have to look for too long OP.

@SBTLove that one is 5 mins from where we are now.

@FatimaMunchy we’ve booked in to view a few on the Wymington/south part of Rushden. Our budget is 350-400k.

The one we offered on but didn’t get was this:

That house is Wellingborough road, in Rushden.

Harrold/Odell etc don’t have anything we like. (Hardly anything for sale there)

The one in Wellingborough Road looks lovely, but Wellingborough Road is very busy. You might be glad in the future that you didn't move there.
