Anyone waiting on completion?

Hi All, I put an offer towards a house back in February, it was a brand new start for myself and my young son after splitting with my husband l, but because of covid 19 everything was delayed and im still waiting on a completion date, despite chasing solicitors every day. I’ve made them aware I need to move in ASAP and am in touch with the sellers who are equally as keen to move. I’m getting very stressed about it all, anyone in the same boat ?

Hi itscoldoutthere, you are exactly right. I rushed into the decision as I’d just split from my husband and it was the only option at the time. Now that I have more options available to me (and loads of time to think!!!) it seemed daft I was squashing me and my son in a one bedroom apartment when there are other options out there, had I have moved when I originally intended to I probably would have made it work but wouldn’t have been happy in the long term.

Good luck with the completion and please come back and let us know how you got on :-) really pleased for you.

Sorry to hear your news @Unsureofthescore113 but sounds like it may be the best plan for you. taking a bit of time to find what you really want is important.

We have decided to give our sellers an ultimatum - they have 2 weeks to get this deal completed or we will pull out! their solicitor is going so slowly and is only flagging questions with the house they are buying now and they offered at the end of Feb. He spent all of lockdown chasing us and now we are ready we've discovered he hasn't done all he was supposed to! Every time our solicitor rings to check on progress he seems to stop working all together, so we're at a standstill. Our poor sellers are so keen to move to their house by the sea but can't seem to get through to him. I hitting the end of my tether in a house I haven't left since 10th March, that is half packed up with 2 kids doing home learning and no space!
