Shower wall panels

I need to replace some tiles in my shower cubicle and I've looked at panels but I really don't fancy the flat shiny ones. I've seen some but they have a digital print on them - look great in photographs but not so great in real life.

Has anyone found and that are "imprinted" or debossed/embossed with a tile effect, matt preferably.

I did find one can many but the colour range was quite limited - ideally I'm looking for a brown or mocha colour.

TIA

I looked at these when I redid my bathroom... I couldn't find any that didn't look like an instructional bathroom. Went for large format tile with dark grout in the end to minimise grout cleaning.

Hoppinggreen · 31/07/2018 10:25

I’ve got them in my bathroom, downstairs loo and am about to do my ensuite
People don’t know they are tiles until they touch them. They are easy to clean with no grout. Would never use tiles again

serbska · 31/07/2018 10:31

@Hoppinggreen please can you link to the ones you have used? I would much rather have used panels and would like to when re-do the en-suite

Hoppinggreen · 31/07/2018 10:36

I will try but they were from a company local to me and I don’t know the make as I don’t have any packaging any more.

Www.home-is.co.uk is where they came from. Maybe you could find the make and look for a local supplier?

ThisIsHistory · 31/07/2018 10:38

Local pub has these in loos.

Took me a few visits to loo after refurb to twig they weren’t tiles. I was so impressed I asked where they got them.

@Hoppinggreen your photos looks amazing! thanks

Hoppinggreen · 31/07/2018 11:02

You are welcome
When my plumber suggested them I said no way so he showed me some photos and sent me to look in the showroom.
Saved me a fortune in labour too as much faster to fit than tiles but about the same price per m2

Smiler1972 · 31/07/2018 17:31

Ooh @Hoppinggreen are they totally flat or have a texture to them? Do the 'grout' lines have an indent?

Thanks for all the replies!

@ThisIsHistory they look like they might be perfect... I googled embossed tiles and these didn't come up. How annoying!

No, totally smooth.
You cant even really feel or see the joins either.
I’m really pleased with them

sluj · 31/07/2018 19:51

Have a look at Nuance by Bushboard. I have them in two showers and will never ever time again. They are waterproof to the core. They have changed the range recently though so I'm not sure about tiled effect. I have concrete in one room and travertine in another, looks more modern than tiles. 100% recommended

sluj · 31/07/2018 19:52

Never TILE again 😁

TeamRick · 31/07/2018 22:55

Mine have been in about 4 years now and still look exactly the same! I'm so pleased with them!

Don't get the Bathstore ones - awful quality.

serbska · 01/08/2018 09:07

@TeamRick yours looks fab too! Really nice looking shower room.

I see you tiled behind the sink area?

What is on the floor? LVT?

Bowerbird5 · 01/08/2018 09:35

What do you clean them with as my son has them in his house and the bottom looks scurffy? His are black so presume it is limes ale. He is good at cleaning the house. Kitchen immaculate. Cleaner than mine but he has more cupboards😁
I noticed when I used bathroom but I didn't say anything just thought I would find out and buy some.

Pauperlil · 01/08/2018 09:50

Place marking this thread as when we eventually get the bathroom done Iv been seriously considering these type of panels and not tiles. I hate hate the upkeep and cleaning of tiles and when we did the kitchen last year I chose a lovely backsplash behind the sink instead of tiles . Looks modern and nice and minimal cleaning, I'm going to try to have alternatives if possible to tiles if I get the Bathroom done

Hoppinggreen · 01/08/2018 10:13

bower I just wipe them down with a sponge and bathroom cleaner.
Everything comes off - I sometimes use a pink dye on my hair and do it in the shower, I got some on the wall and it came straight off without leaving a mark. Next day in the shower I realised I had missed a bit and thought it might stain but it didn’t and that was on a light colour
Never had an issue with limescale on them

needyourlovingtouch · 01/08/2018 10:21

Never seen these before an im really impressed.

Smiler1972 · 01/08/2018 11:10

@TeamRick that look good - are they matt?

I've got samples ordered from Tegawall, Bushboard and Mermaid Panels

Will post them here when I get them!

This is where they are going and what they need to match.

Here's mine. Sorry I don't know how to spin the image round. I used some of the leftover to make a six inch splashback

Yay, it came out the right way up

We have mermaid panels. Love them. Would never have tiles again in shower.
