Having our Kitchen redone, which do you prefer?

Hello

We are having our kitchen totally redone, I’ve been trying to make my mind up on what I want.

I quite like D as it’s open, although it all faces toward the walls.

C is probably my favourite as it faces outward, but it is only about 15ft of work surfaces and there is little option for wall units.

A is probably my least favourite, and I think B is probably the most sensible.

Thanks in advance and feel free to suggest any other layouts.

What are the dimensions? I like d the best by far.

milliemops · 06/05/2018 16:12

Yep I agree d is best.

Cabawill · 06/05/2018 16:14

I prefer D

Happydays9 · 06/05/2018 16:17

At its widest and longest, it’s just over 15ft, not huge so want to make the most from the space.

Didn’t realise it was so square.

D

Sink under the window.

Thanks for the responses :)

I prefer C followed by D, then A and lastly B (the layout of this one just doesn't seem right to me)

cece · 06/05/2018 16:20

D

C and D combined making a u possibly G shape

Why don't you have C but with the units running under the window and along the walls (so in a U shape)? That would be a fab layout and increased work surface.

Happydays9 · 06/05/2018 17:05

Sadly it wouldn’t be wide enough to have wall units in C, the walk way would only be 2ft wide. :(

C

UnimaginativeUsername · 06/05/2018 17:14

I think the PP meant to take the door configuration in C and put U shaped units along the right-hand wall. No peninsula. A bit like the units in the top corner of D but with an extra corner and units along the wall at the bottom of the run.

Does that make sense?

Yesiamhappy · 06/05/2018 17:17

D

If you want (have space) you could bring the table more into the middle and have shelves / dresser against the long wall

savagehk · 06/05/2018 17:26

D will give you most storage as you can have more wall units and floor to ceiling units as well

SwedishEdith · 06/05/2018 17:27

C.

What are those units to the left of the door in D? The door in between them and the other units could be annoying.

UnimaginativeUsername · 06/05/2018 17:28

Could you go with the door configuration in D, but put the table in the smaller part of the room and have an L shaped run of units along the left-hand and bottom walls?

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 06/05/2018 17:33

I prefer C Smile

OhTheRoses · 06/05/2018 17:34

Why cant there be a long run against the left hand wall in a with an angled cabinet at end to clear the window?

overnightangel · 06/05/2018 17:37

C
D
B
A

shmoop · 06/05/2018 17:46

I like C as you can easily face/talk to the people sitting at the table. I'd prefer not to have my back to them

PrimalLass · 06/05/2018 17:47

D by far

ButterfliesandMoths · 06/05/2018 17:48

Another vote for D

PrimalLass · 06/05/2018 17:48

And i would perhaps get a narrow island trolley

Cornishmumofone · 06/05/2018 17:56

Do you already have the table and chairs? I wanted more storage, so I had bench seats built using narrow cupboard carcasses. I use them for all of the stuff I don't use frequently.
