Considering one in my kitchen re-design, so would be great to gauge any MN owners views!

Yes, definitely. I love ours. It’s so much easier than the electric one it replaced and there is no gas in our kitchen, so the only choice really.

crumpet · 29/04/2018 20:39

Yes. Have put one in each of my last 2 houses and wouldn’t hesitate to do so again. I will never willingly clean round a gas hob again.

wowfudge · 29/04/2018 20:40

Yes. Totally agree about cleaning gas hobs too.

Delphinius · 29/04/2018 20:40

Just installed ours yesterday. It's amazing. Boils water faster than the kettle, safer than our previous gas supply. Wouldn't go back. Plus I get to buy a new wok and griddle pan.

NannyR · 29/04/2018 20:40

Definitely, so easy to use, as responsive as gas but so much easier to clean.

TorchesTorches · 29/04/2018 20:41

Yes! I have one and i love it! It came with the house, so not my initial choice, but really reliable, easy to clean, good movement between heats and can detect and turn itself off if a pot boils over.

Only downside is you need special pans, so i had to get rid of a couple of my pans initially.

QuitMoaning · 29/04/2018 20:42

If I bought a house without one, I would be buying one the next day. I am new to them having spent last 7 years on gas and I love it.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 29/04/2018 20:43

Love mine. Everything is so much quicker and nothing has stuck so far

wowfudge · 29/04/2018 20:43

I replaced one, cheap non stick coated aluminium pan. All our others and cast iron frying pans, casseroles, etc are fine.

RandomMess · 29/04/2018 20:43

Put one in my old house (to replace gas) moved and put one in straight away.

Absolutely love it don't bother with an electric kettle just use a hob top one!

Nsbgsyebebdnd · 29/04/2018 20:44

Love ours!

moreshitandnofuckingredemption · 29/04/2018 20:45

Yes!

CrumpetandSausage · 29/04/2018 20:45

Just be careful not to drop anything heavy on it...

Fourmagpies · 29/04/2018 20:45

Yes I love ours. I was surprised to find that our 13 year old pans were suitable for induction as I was sure that they wouldn't be. Did have to get rid of the wok though. The hob is so easy to clean, very easy to use, heats up quickly, responsive, ours has a timer which switches the ring off when done so no more overcooked pasta or boiled dry beetroot!

ChocolateChoux · 29/04/2018 20:46

Yes, in a heartbeat! We moved last year and about the only thing I really miss from our old flat is the wonderful induction hob we installed. I am itching to get rid of the gas hob in our new house - it's such a pain to clean!

gingercat02 · 29/04/2018 20:51

I hate mine as does Mil (hers not mine). Ours was here when we moved in. Can't wait to go back to gas when we do the kitchen

SocksRock · 29/04/2018 20:53

Yes - I had to replace my jam pan, but that was it. So easy to clean as well :-)

borntobequiet · 29/04/2018 20:54

Yes.

Aw12345 · 29/04/2018 20:54

Yes it's amazing, I love it!

refusetobeasheep · 29/04/2018 20:57

Wow, looks like I should go ahead and take the plunge! Thanks all

Ginger why do you and your mil hate them ?

ChallyCreaks · 29/04/2018 21:19

Yes I love mine and would never go back to gas. It's so easy to clean.

namechangedtoday15 · 29/04/2018 21:19

Yes, installed 2 years ago and would have again in a heartbeat.

I also thought I'd have to replace my pans but no, the pans bought as a wedding present in 2003 are perfect on it!

Furano · 29/04/2018 21:32

Yes without a shadow of a doubt. So fast to heat up, so responsive, so easy to clean.

Gettingitsortedonewayoranother · 29/04/2018 21:47

Yes from me too. I was sceptical and never thought I could live without a gas job, but blimey I wouldn’t change now.

Mine is an AEG from John Lewis - so easy to clean and so responsive.
