Hi All, we are looking to put our house on the market and were wondering if anyone had used purple bricks or Yopa to sell their house?

Were they any good? Any pitfalls to avoid?

Thanks in advance!

I bought a house and seller used YOPA. I put in offer on Oct 12th and we completed on Dec 20th. No problems whatsoever. I was given a local person's name and number as well as national number and helpline. Local person then text then me and said I could ring or text him anytime. At every stage I was sent online paper trail e.g. when I put in offer they sent me email saying i had put in offer once it was accepted the same so easy to follow. I would use them to sell another time as very helpful.

With an online estate agent, you need to make your own arrangements to hand over the keys to the buyer on moving day, which can be a real problem if you’re not moving locally.

Photos of the house we bought were good. Sizes seemed accurate but I did think it was a good price and was first to view and offered full asking price which was accepted. I did wonder if seller could have got a bit more if she asked a higher price but assumed maybe she wanted a quick sale as her partner had died and she was moving to live with her daughter. She said she wanted to move before Xmas so we both rushed to do everything quickly and post back by return. In Jan I saw a house a few doors down up for £25k more. I did look at photos and very similar. I got a good deal Grin
