This landed in a village near us. I can't work out who is the target market.
classy.
Particularly like the photo with car's bottom coyly peeking out of the house.

The planners allowed bat monstrosity to be built in a village? Weren’t you all up in arms when the plans went in?

duriandurian · 10/03/2018 08:48

Not my village (my parents'). I am v v surprised it scored PP. They have had to undertake ridiculous commitments just to chop down a tree etc. (Conservation Area). It isn't even as if it is a beautiful addition and enhances the countryside, is it- despite AstroTurf on the roof

I like it but it's very expensive. I wonder if it has great views.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 10/03/2018 08:58

It’s a conservation area!?

I bet the owner is either related to, or sleeping with, someone from the council.

MsLumley · 10/03/2018 08:59

That's truly hideous.

duriandurian · 10/03/2018 09:01

Maybe the shiny Range Rover belongs to the suddenly-quite-wealthy Planning Officer! It is mystifying. Unsure about views. Where it is built used to be an an abbatoir I think and now there are lots of eco homes and this as well.

I love all that space - but yes, it's butt ugly.

Ikanon · 10/03/2018 09:04

That's a lovely area to live in but an absolutely bat shit ugly planning decision.

I weep at the kind of house that could have been built there.

SeamLess · 10/03/2018 09:11

That is hideous and too try hard.

duriandurian · 10/03/2018 09:12

On the plus side I bet it didn't take up too much of the architects time! Looks v simile to what my kids can create with a couple of cereal packets and some masking tape at school shame they forgot the glitter

Ifailed · 10/03/2018 09:14

it's hideous.

BrieAndChilli · 10/03/2018 09:16

Looks like one of my DDs sims houses!!!

Neolara · 10/03/2018 09:16

I love it! Garden could do with landscaping though. Would make a massive difference.

Chickencellar · 10/03/2018 09:18

I quite like it , I'd certainly live there , I wonder if it was on grand designs.

Barbara I'd bet not.

Ginmakesitallok · 10/03/2018 09:20

I think it's beautiful!!

SequinsOnEverything · 10/03/2018 09:22

The outside looks like shipping containers, but the inside is amazing! I think I'd live there if I could afford it.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 10/03/2018 09:30

I love it, especially the outside. The finish inside isn't exactly how I would do it, but I like the structure. I like the 'barn in a field' effect outside and wouldn't do a traditional garden there, but I would plant trees, a lot of trees. I particularly like the green driveway, we are trying to get planning permission to build a house (urban, so not like this one) and I plan to have a planted driveway, good for drainage and it looks pretty.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 10/03/2018 09:31

I wouldn't pay that much for the house though, is that a particularly expensive area?

JoJoSM2 · 10/03/2018 09:31

I love the inside and the materials on the outside but the building could do with being a nicer shape.

KitKat1985 · 10/03/2018 09:35

That's really ugly. And so expensive!

duriandurian · 10/03/2018 10:00

Expensive area. But not really walking distance to the village. And you would have to drive for railway to London too.

It’s like irl minecraft

notacooldad · 10/03/2018 10:09

I love it!

viques · 10/03/2018 10:15

I suppose the good thing is that when you are fed up with your 11 visitors sitting round your island gawping as they watch you cook , you can send them all off to the gym because there is enough equipment there for them all to be kept occupied while you finish chopping the onions. Other vegetables are available for chopping.

Can I say here for once and for all, low platform beds are a bloody nightmare, both the get out of and to change the linen on.

The two horses in the field are probably saying to each other " It looked like our perfect forever home barn on the plans so what the fuck went wrong?"

blueskyinmarch · 10/03/2018 10:16

I bloody love it. I am guessing there were maybe farm buildings there - barns perhaps - and it has been built on the footprint. I think it blends in nicely with the surrounding countryside.
