This landed in a village near us. I can't work out who is the target market.
classy.
Particularly like the photo with car's bottom coyly peeking out of the house.

I love it!

viques · 10/03/2018 10:30

bluesky the OP says it used to be an abattoir.

I think that would be the thing that would put me off even more than not have £3m . All that blood, all those deaths, now just silence......I'm having a Jodie Foster moment here.

mirren3 · 10/03/2018 10:46

chickenceller I wondered about Grand Designs too. Having looked at the description and the monthly running costs I'd want Kevin McL as a butler though. £12,000 per month!!

Chickencellar · 10/03/2018 11:21

I guess that's just an estimate though , I bet it's pretty cheap to run compared with something else that size .

Backingvocals · 10/03/2018 11:25

Wow that is hideous. Nice enough if identikit inside but it’s pretty brutal on the outside. Like a giant FU to anyone walking by.

Whoville · 10/03/2018 11:59

I love the inside but the outside just makes me wince. I'm also very surprised that was ever approved especially as there are so many other houses that have probably had their views spoiled by it Confused

I once undertook a stage in rural France where I went around helping to inspect barns and rubber stamping big subsidies if they looked in keeping with the environment. I am unsure if this would have met our, not v. exacting, standards.

I cannot tell if that is real photos or an artists impression? It looks like a nuclear bunker, whatever it is.

(description says completed Autumn 2018 so I suspect artists impressions).

Oblomov18 · 10/03/2018 14:20

Vile. It's like it has just been plonked down by a crane. You could build a lovely house there. This just looks like the cheap easy option.

FluffyWuffy100 · 10/03/2018 14:49

I don’t like the upstairs.

There is no dressing room on the master suite, and two bedrooms share a bathroom jack and Jill style.

Also no cinema room.

FluffyWuffy100 · 10/03/2018 14:52

Oh it kinda has a dressing room but not properly

MillStone · 10/03/2018 15:08

I love it!

Sooooo .... I live really near here. Drive past it a couple of times a week - it’s not actually built yet, it’s just a steel frame at the moment and is it enormous. Weirdly they’re building it v close to the road though, when you’d think with all that land it would be further away.

duriandurian · 10/03/2018 19:05

Not yet built does make more sense with the totally generic décor pictures and totally unlandscaped surroundings.
Close to the road as well? It's a twisty road and people really underestimate how twisty. My friend lived one farm up and her dad was always having to fish speeders out of his pond when they misjudged the bend. Still, it would add a bit of excitement.
Still sniggering at viques baffled horses. They really would be disappointed.

It’s a pricey area. Crazy thing is someone will buy it.

It’s not my cup of tea but I heard that the design was ‘award winning’- not sure what award
