Are you selling it or considering buying it?

GuinessPunch · 23/04/2017 20:24

I don't know the area and if its a good price but the outside space and surroundings look like an industrial estate. Inside needs a bit doing to it in alot of areas.

SheSparkles · 23/04/2017 20:25

It's way better inside than the exterior suggests

Racmactac · 23/04/2017 20:27

It's mine and we are selling

It's fine except outside space. No garden would be a no for me. Seems a lot of rooms for the money but I don't know the area.

Tobuyornot99 · 23/04/2017 20:29

Initial thoughts are parking might be an are ache, and will there be noise at pub kicking out time (I'm assuming there is one near, have no knowledge of the area)

Mummamayhem · 23/04/2017 20:30

Rooms look quite small and dark and there's no picture of the garden. It looks like it has some nice potential though.

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 23/04/2017 20:30

oh a hill...windy
what's the deal with the neighbours in the yellow house...party wall
pic2 ...was it some sort of shop? Busy road/passing trade?
bathroom in pic8 needs gutted...who installed all that pipework like that....dearie me

do any of the pics pertain to the shop front and i don't think i have seen five bedrooms so if I was the seller I'd be vexed.

B19M · 23/04/2017 20:30

It's a very nice house ; looks like you could move straight in and be comfortable.
The only thing I don't like is the old ? shop-front.

Racmactac · 23/04/2017 20:30

I'm aware lack of garden would put some off. The parking area could be reinstated to a garden.
It's a high street and pubs near by but generally quite quiet

That's so funny clicking on your link as we are looking at moving to Shropshire! Haven't seen your house come up in my search on rightmove before though,
It seems like a quirky house looking at the floor plan, So the ground floor is in two parts where u have to go outside to get into the living area? Where's the garden is there much of one? Honestly to me it looks like it needs work.
The master bedroom is lovely though best part about your house.

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 23/04/2017 20:32

and blurb says five beds, but there are six on the plan?

Laska5772 · 23/04/2017 20:32

Grade 2 listed , I wouldnt , I reckon it would be v expensive to heat and maintain , I reackon it would be prone to cold/draughts and you wouldnt be able to change the windows (except maybe put internal secondary double glazing in .. ( oh and that lounge wallpaper!)

ScarletForYa · 23/04/2017 20:34

The black and white decor wouldn't be for me, what's that black thing on the wall in the living room?

Is it a radiator? It looks like the monolith from 2001 A space Odyssey! With the dark grey carpet it's a bit depressing.

Laska5772 · 23/04/2017 20:35

Oops! just seen its yours Blush Apologies about wallpaper comment . (Laska puts foot in mouth as usual) sorry

Racmactac · 23/04/2017 20:36

Ha the black things are radiators.
The shop front is a separate annex which we let on air bnb.

The house looks good at first glance, but could you break up the text in some way? On the rightmove app it presents as one VERY long block, so people aren't likely to read and appreciate the important points.

Racmactac · 23/04/2017 20:38

All very helpful comments tho thanks

Some rooms need 'dressing' - the one of a (spare?) bedroom with just the bed is depressing. Picture on wall, bedside cabinet, something to break up the plain walls.
Agree about the piping, box it in at least - massive dust trap, plus surely more likely to cause problems exposed?
The room with the weird floating tv - take the tv out. It looks so odd, it's all I can see.
Otherwise, blimey, 5 beds for 300k! Bargain!

DuckingGlitter · 23/04/2017 20:40

That tables looks too big for the kitchen and makes it look smaller/ not very spacious. It's swamping it a bit. Can you take that out for photos/ viewings and store it to open the room up a bit? Also, the wallpaper is quite overwhelming and might put some off, can you strip it and maybe put something more neutral up?

RandomMess · 23/04/2017 20:41

The unusual heating would put me off, there are a few rooms where it looks "odd" - think it could be the air b'n'b rooms?

Lucisky · 23/04/2017 20:41

Second person here saying the pipework in the bathroom is horrendous, sorry. Wouldn't look so bad if you painted the copper pipes, but it looks unprofessional, and it would make me question the standard of other works in the house.

Haint · 23/04/2017 20:44

Is that a tissue dispenser on the wall next to the bed? And a water heater tap thing on the washbasin like on an office c.1987?

OlennasWimple · 23/04/2017 20:44

I'm always suspicious of first photos that show something other than the front of the house. Where is the front door?

The listing and the floor plan don't make it clear that it is a five bed house with a one bedroom apartment attached

I don't care about the pipe museum or the town's history other than as a footnote - I don't want to have to wade through all that blurb to get to the details on the property

Kitchen is nice but small for the size of house

Move the school photo from the lounge shot

Get a proper bedside table for the room in photo 6 and take the towels off the end of the beds (you're not selling a hotel room)

What is the room in photo 7? Move a bed there, if only for the photos, to make it clear what it is and what size bed will fit in there. Ditto for photo 10

Photo 8 would really really put me off. The bathroom looks to have been done up recently (so there will be a premium attached to the price) but the copper pipe all along the wall is ugly, and I don't want to have to use an electrical heater for hot water to wash my hands.

What's the random rectangular pipe in photo 9? (And clear away the cable on the floor for a new photo!)

Bluntness100 · 23/04/2017 20:46

It's a really unusual house, I suspect what will sell it is number of bedrooms for the money, although it is a family home with no garden.maybe someone who needs a granny annexe. It also needs some work in terms of decor, I'm sorry, the feature walls are overly dominant and won't be everyone's cup of tea. If it's priced correctly it will sell so I think that's the key thing, if it is priced correctly.
