Do you have a Quooker tap?

We're planning our kitchen at the moment- I want a Quooker tap but dh thinks they're a waste of money.

If you have one - would you recommend it??

Yes - it is my favourite thing in my kitchen bar nothing. It is brilliant. I will never have a manky old kettle again!

Yes, I have a Quooker Fusion with a 3 litre tank. I love it, husband wasn't supportive but it won him around too. However, I don't have kids and can see, if I did, that I might not be quite as keen, they are pretty fierce.

Utterly love ours - 3 litre standalone tap in stainless steel. Brilliant for cooking veg and pasta, making up stock as well as hot drinks. We've got a kettle in a cupboard, but it only comes out for hot water bottles, as they need slightly cooler water. My DH was a bit dubious, but pretty sure he's now convinced! If you can afford it without sacrificing something significant then go for it.

We have a fusion and both adore it. It was expensive, but I love it. I do run a catering company though, so it's earning its keep.

3 litre? Do you need to fill them up?? Can you tell I've not done my research??

There's a tank that sits in the cupboard under the sink - we have a Quooker water filter tank sat alongside it. It fills up automatically. If you get the tap remember you'll need an electrical socket for it - we didn't realise this until quite late in to our kitchen refurb.

How much are they? I get confused and waylaid trying to Google...

I've found an Insinkerator one for £400 - a LOT more than a kettle (which is dh's argument!)

The kitchen we've chosen was cheaper than expected so I'm hoping to get it out of the left over budget 😉

My Quooker 'design' tap was £700 last year.

And yep, clearly way more expensive than a kettle! It's one of those things that clearly nobody actually needs. But for some reason having instantaneous boiling water gives me a little thrill! I'm not very exciting though...

Mine was £850, I thought that was a good deal as it's an all in one - it does hot, cold and boiling. Got it in a deal as I bought other appliances at the same time.

What made you choose Quooker over other brands? I'm about to get one and have seen the Insinkerator ones are a lot cheaper.
I've ruled out Zip Tap because they are so ugly
Are Quooker worth the extra money?

We have a Franke (think it's called omni) one that does hot and cold, boiling and filtered cold for drinking (as we have water softener).

It's bloody amazing. I didn't want more than one tap cluttering up the place so went for one that did everything.

(Get a waste disposal too if you're doing your kitchen)

We've got an Itho www.itho.co.uk/ boiling tap. I love it. It does hot, cold, filtered and boiling. Be careful - some boiling taps don't dispense water at 100 degrees. I went for the Itho because it has 100 degree water and the tank sits under the kickboard so you don't lose any cupboard space (and it was less expensive than Quooker).

I chose quooker because we were installing it ourselves and it seemed like the easiest option for that. And the water is actually boiling. I'm sure other brands are absolutely fine though.

I used to have quooker envy but have two friends who have them and I am now far more content with my kettle. One friend has no end of problems and the other spends about £150 a year on servicing et al and so circumnavigates the problems. Neither scenario fills me with enough joy to go ahead and get one. I'm sticking with my kettle for now thanks. I do enjoy the hot, chilled, sparkling tap at work but am very glad I don't have to service it as that is also for ever having a fit of not working. If I could get one that was reliable and didn't cost a fortune to service I might change my mind and will probably revisit the scenario when we refurb our kitchen but that will be at least five years if not more. So - that was a long winded way of saying - don't forget the service costs.

glad you started this thread OP, as i am researching the very same thing. Really really want one, but don't know if I can justify the cost, i am so bad at decision making.

We are kitchen planning too and like you my hubby thinks we don't need one. However we're getting one! . I've done quite a bit of research and I'm getting a Quooker one - the simple one that is separate to the main kitchen tap. My brother also has a Quooker and loves it for all the usual uses but he said one of his favourite things is using it for soaking cooking trays after a big roast - says it gets the cooked in dirt off very quickly :) I think Quooker are one of the only ones that genuinely does properly boiling water - I'm very fussy about my tea being super hot!

We have an Insinkerator, have had it since kitchen redone 2 years ago. Husband wanted it, I thought it was waste of money. It has been faultless and I love it. Makes tea that I can't distinguish from kettle tea, hugely convenient to have instant boiling water for all sorts of purposes, no problems with it in any way - absolutely would have one again, and I never wanted it in the first place!

I fib and tell him I only read MN and don't actually post otherwise I'd show his this thread (and the other one - i started one in Chat then thought I'd get more traffic here!)

I'm definitely swaying towards one!!

asilver we've bought our kitchen from Wren and they're honouring the bank holiday discount on anything else we want to add - I think they stock Insinkerator... need to ring them I think 😉
