Well Spickle that's what I thought!! But apparently the vast majority of them are very minor? Like I said I don't believe a word any of them say anyway!

Good news is our vendors have declined the gazumpers offer. Bad news is still waiting for the mortgage offer.

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 23/06/2016 22:12

30 queries sounds like a lot, heyhey. I think you're right to be skeptical.

Glad the vendors didn't go for thr gazumpers. Tbh, I think if you gazump people you should expect nothing to go smoothly as everyone's decided that they're not going to abide by the usual etiquette.

We have a 3/4 packed and mostly empty house now. DH and I have been cleaning windows and such like all night. The movers are coming back at 9am tomorrow to finish then drive to the new house and wait until I get the keys. It is really happening.

I find it really strange to think that this is the last night I'll ever spend in this house. I've moved loads of times but always renting. This is the first house that DH and I ever bought, so it's weird to think that tomorrow it won't be 'ours' any more.

Skittlesss · 24/06/2016 07:13

Step - fantastic news :)

We have been on and off but are back on again for next Thursday. Exchange today.

Let's hope Brexit hasn't F-ed it all up for us all.

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 24/06/2016 08:54

Indeed skitless. Indeed.

needresolution · 24/06/2016 09:22

I finally have a date for completion - next Friday. The vendor herself rang me to tell me lol

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 24/06/2016 09:43

Good news needresolution. This time next week you'll be where I am.

One of our movers is cheerfully wandering around singing opera this morning. Smile

kirinm · 24/06/2016 10:51

My DP's company has already lost work as there were things were resting on a remain decision. We are going to have to take a step back, watch the fall out and see if we can keep going with the purchase.

dream75 · 24/06/2016 11:46

Completed today. Going to pick the keys up soon. Very excited although needs work doing before we move in. Big thanks to all the mumsnet advice which has helped from putting house on the market to completing. Good luck to everyone still going through the process.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 24/06/2016 11:51

Yeah dream! Glad one of us is having a good day Grin Enjoy!!

southwest1 · 24/06/2016 12:08

I've had the call to say my purchase has completed but the vendors are still moving out so no time as to when I can get the keys. I pointed out my removal truck is due at 2. If I don't hear before I plan to head to the house at 1:30 and say sorry but it's mine now get out!

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 24/06/2016 18:04

We completed at around 12 too. Didn't get the keys til 2 though.

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 24/06/2016 18:05

Hope your both enjoying unpacking as much as we are. Grin

southwest1 · 24/06/2016 20:10

The removal men have not long left. I've unpacked the plates and ordered a takeaway. The rest can wait until tomorrow.

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 24/06/2016 20:49

Good plan southwest.

We have set both boys up in rooms and totally unpacked our room (because it was easiest). DH is fiddling with speakers in the living room now.

I couldn't face tackling the sticky, dirty, doggy-smelling, kitchen at all (that the vendors didn't clean; the oven looks like it's never been clean in its 8 year life) so I've not unpacked anything in there today. We went out for dinner to avoid having to do anything at all about the kitchen. It can wait for tomorrow!

coolpatterngirl · 24/06/2016 21:01

Looks like our purchase is off. Broker has confirmed Santander are reviewing policies post Brexit.

Are Natwest fast? They're really our last chance.

kirinm · 24/06/2016 22:40

Oh no cool! We are with natwest, had our mortgage approved subject to valuation in about 24 hours but then it took a while to get the formal offer.

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 24/06/2016 22:53

Our mortgage is with natwest. They were quick throughout.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 25/06/2016 05:50

Oh no cool! That's shit :( hope something gets sorted.

thesnailandthewhale · 25/06/2016 07:16

We were almost ready to exchange and my buyer pulled out yesterday - damn referendum Sad

Skittlesss · 25/06/2016 07:58

We didn't exchange yesterday - apparently the people our seller is buying off weren't ready. Our solicitors said we are still on for completion on Thurs and will exchange and complete on the same day if need be. She's arranged for our mortgage to be available. Our Sellers sound like they are still going ahead as have requested invoice from estate agents and got themselves removals booked etc.

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 25/06/2016 08:19

I'm really sorry to hear that thesnailandthewhale. What are you going to do?

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus · 25/06/2016 08:20

I hope you exchange soon skitless. The waiting to exchange bit is horrible.

kirinm · 25/06/2016 11:57

Oh Snails, that is gutting for you. It's so hard to know whether to keep going on with our purchase - although our vendor seeks a bit of a dick so not bothered if he gets upset.

What do you think you'll do?
