Everyone's the same. I feel suspicious as well. It's no good.

Our solicitors have had our deposit and their payment for nearly a month now. Gonna get hubby to ring them in a bit.

Temporaryanonymity · 04/06/2016 06:35

Well, I'm in and I have new carpets! Off there shortly to clean etc. Good luck to everyone x

Heyheyheygoodbye · 04/06/2016 09:13

Yeah Temp! Grin

kirinm · 04/06/2016 10:12

Woohoo temp! Enjoy!

Skittlesss · 04/06/2016 11:23

Yayyyyyy temp. That is fab news. Enjoy!

TitsDown · 04/06/2016 15:43

Good work temp. You did it!

We are visiting family in our soon-to-be hometown this weekend. It's a popular seaside-y place and I normally go off-season. It's hectic in half-term!

PotatosMum · 05/06/2016 09:03

Well done Temp, enjoy your new home WineCakeGrin

I should hear tomorrow what's going on on my mortgage and with my sale paperwork. Hopefully we should get some news about when OHs house is completing too.
Fingers crossed we should have the mortgage stuff finally sorted by the end of the week.

kirinm · 05/06/2016 11:16

Fingers crossed potato. I'm also hoping to have a formal offer next week.

Our solicitor still hasn't received the lease or draft contract so not expecting huge progress on the legal side. Surprise surprise.

Spickle · 05/06/2016 12:47

Kirinm, that doesn't make sense. If you've received fixtures and fittings and standard enquiries have been made, then the solicitor must have the draft contract! Entirely possible to still await the lease though. Also a set of enquiries should go out to the management company/landlord or a leasehold pack provided. This gives info on maintenance charges, accounts for the last 3 years, block buildings insurance and details of any major works done or due.

kirinm · 05/06/2016 12:53

Spickle - this is my issue with our solicitor, nothing he says is consistent let alone makes sense. He's told me twice now he doesn't have the contract. I went through the docs and asked him to make some more specific enquiries - but that was because I was aware of works going on and he wasn't.

He still can't spell :(

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 12:43

We've had a little good news. We're selling two properties to buy one, my flat and my OHs old place.
We've just found out that OHs place will complete next week. Woohoo Grin

Now if I can just get a response from the mortgage company (been told we're in a que again and won't get an update until Friday) all will be right with the world Grin

kirinm · 06/06/2016 12:49

Survey is back and contains nothing scary. The wait for the mortgage offer continues!

I've written to our solicitor as well. It basically amounts to us asking him to tell us if there's a delay that he needs us to resolve and to get the bloody address of the property we are buying correct rather than a place in Hither Green - a different part of London entirely!

Thunderbumsmum · 06/06/2016 14:51

Hello, can I join you? We are trying to buy a house after losing our dream home through a combination of a vendor from hell and a "friend" (not any more!) who gazumped us. We lost our buyers before we could find another place to buy and now we have found a lovely house but have no buyer. It is super stressful and I could do with a support thread.

kirinm · 06/06/2016 15:12

Hi Thunder, sounds like you've had a stressful time. Welcome to the thread. I moan about my solicitor a lot.

My broker just text to say that our mortgage is approved and we should receive the formal offer in the post but we are all good to go! WOOHOO. This was the bit I was most freaked out about for some reason.

PotatosMum · 06/06/2016 15:51

Kirinm congrats on the mortgage offer Smile I can easily imagine what a relief it is!

Heyheyheygoodbye · 06/06/2016 15:57

Yeah! Good news Potato and Kirin.

Welcome Thunder so sorry to hear of your woes.

We spoke to our solicitor today. Searches should start coming back soon and he will let us know each result as they do. We can expect fixtures and fittings list etc by the end of the week. Once we actually start getting something to look at I'll feel a bit better I think. I hate this process. I need to move out of DM's house!!!

kirinm · 06/06/2016 17:08

Thank you! Really relieved. After uni I had series debt problems and it has taken me a long time to get myself into a position where I'd even consider applying for a mortgage so I still doubted anyone would lend to me so getting this bit over and done with was my main worry.

Fingers crossed you hear soon potato.

TitsDown · 06/06/2016 20:31

Yay. Go kirin - good progress.

Sorry to hear about your nightmare thunder - good luck finding a buyer, you found one already so there must be another one out there!

All our searches came back and queries and there's one issue as its a private road and there "don't seem to be access rights" which my solicitor says she needs to report to the lender and "might delay things". Clearly whoever has owned the property has been accessing it over the last 90-odd years so I don't see what the big deal is. But then maybe that's why I'm not a lawyer. We also will end up prevailing on parents heyhey if the delay is significant so I'm crossing everything it's some sort of silliness that can be resolved quickly.

Skittlesss · 07/06/2016 13:25

Well we are considering pulling out of our purchase.

It feels like we are being strung along. The sellers solicitors have said that the sellers have had a mortgage offer but they haven't received the papers yet. We just do not believe them to be honest.

Feeling torn and gutted and confused. We are in love with the house, but howe long should we let this drag on? It's been 3 months and there's barely a chain. We are FTB and they're buying a house with no onward chain!

Skittlesss · 07/06/2016 13:26

Not to mention we signed papers and paid everything a month ago! So our £20k has been sat in the Solicitors bank for a bloody month because they reckoned exchange was around the corner!

needresolution · 07/06/2016 13:30

So fed up with this buying process why do they keep you hanging?!

Heyheyheygoodbye · 07/06/2016 17:52

Oh no Skittles Sad can you email the estate agent and tell them you're thinking of pulling out?

Skittlesss · 07/06/2016 19:19

Hubby's going to call them tomorrow. I said that we should look at some other houses to keep our options open.

How can it have gone from no mortgage needed to bloody waiting 3 months for one?!

unimagmative13 · 07/06/2016 20:13

We are due to complete next week!!

Exchange took 3 days as they kept missing each other's calls Hmm

Skittlesss · 07/06/2016 20:22

That's good, unimagmative! At least you've exchanged and can feel a bit better.
