Oh no Heyhey.

Would you consider pulling out ( or threatening to)?

Heyheyheygoodbye · 31/05/2016 14:59

We will have to. It's now six weeks since the offer was accepted and no sign of anything resembling a contract. Can't sit around forever and I just don't trust the vendor at all. Plus now either the EA or the vendor's solicitor is lying to us (promising the contract had been sent over on Thursday) and we have no way of knowing which.

It's really disappointing because we love the house AND we offered slightly more than we wanted to on the basis that the vendor said they were moving out really soon and it would all go nice and quickly, and we moved solicitors when ours were terrible because we were afraid of slowing the sale down!

DH has sent a fairly robust email to the EA making the first noises about pulling out. If we don't have a draft contract by the end of the week we've seen two other houses we will go and have a look at.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 31/05/2016 16:54

Never mind....our solicitor just rang to say the contract has arrived GrinStarGrinStarGrinStar

TitsDown · 31/05/2016 17:07

Yay! Go heyhey.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 31/05/2016 17:34

Thanks Grin lovely solicitor rang to say the searches will get done asap.

Temporaryanonymity · 31/05/2016 22:48

I get my keys tomorrow! So excited, I just hope nothing goes wrong because I've got three floors of carpet to rip up before Friday when my new ones are coming. I'm off work on Thursday but have to travel up north in the evening as I have a meeting on Friday that I can't change so I am trying to find someone to let the fitters in and lock up after. There are occasions where I wish I had a man!

readingrainbow · 01/06/2016 08:09

Good luck today, Temp.Cake

Heyheyheygoodbye · 01/06/2016 08:12

YEAH Temp! I hope it goes brilliantly!

Temporaryanonymity · 01/06/2016 12:07

It's hasn't. Bloody useless solicitor. I'm so cross.

needresolution · 01/06/2016 12:25

Hi can I join need to rant!
I offered on a house on 3rd March, the sellers were supposedly moving in with inlaws great I though no chain. Anyway searches all happened and came back OK, I was aiming for end of May so I could put notice in on my rented 1st June. It comes to the last week in May and it transpires there a chain, and they cant complete til 3rd June - I was annoyed but it was just a week. Then voicemail end of day on 27th May my sol says there a problem other end of chain no completion til end of June!

Had email this morning, my sellers are selling inlaws house too and that buyer is awaiting a mortgage offer and cant get a valuation til 13th June!!
So basically I cant do anything Im in limb. What if they cant get a mortgage?! I cant believe people offer on houses with no mortgage in place these days.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 01/06/2016 12:30

Oh no Temp what's happened????

Welcome need. Join us for a glass of WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE. Wine

unimagmative13 · 01/06/2016 12:37

We are in the same boat.

Due to exchange yesterday and give notice today. Still not exchanged not happy

needresolution · 01/06/2016 12:44

So annoying, I don't want to threaten to pull out as there are no other houses that are suitable which seems like a common occurrence reading this thread, arghhhh :(

PotatosMum · 01/06/2016 13:05

Heyhey wonderful news about the contract Grin

Temp oh no, what happened?

Need sucks that your being held up but sometimes you get the mortgage in principle straight away but the actual offer takes an age. Fingers crossed all goes smoothly and you can go ahead at the end of June.

Speaking of mortgage offers, yup, I'm still waiting! We've sent back another load of paperwork the mortgage provider has asked for and are expecting them to get back to us Friday or Monday... I'd like to think we'll get the offer then but given the last couple of times I'm expecting them to ask for something even more obscure.
On the bright side I've looked up other people's experiences with this provider and they seem to drag everyone over the coals regarding paperwork and it has no baring over the outcome. Just tired and want it sorted now.

On the bright side. I've got the draft contract for the house we're buying who want to complete in the first couple of weeks of August and apparently my buyer is nearly ready. My OHs buyer is expecting to complete at the end of June so that should be out of the way soon.

Just hope the baby stays put until she's due. I don't really fancy going into labour mid move! Shock

kirinm · 01/06/2016 14:02

Urgh Temp poor you.

This house buying stuff is tedious, isn't it? I've not enjoyed any of the process.

Our survey was done yesterday so we should hear from the mortgage company within 3-5 days. Why so long?!

I still don't like my solicitor. Has to ask him to raise specific enquiries that he hasn't bothered to do about maintenance that we know is currently being carried out that the vendor failed to mention.

I'm really hoping we can exchange at the end of June. I have no idea if that's realistic though.

Temporaryanonymity · 01/06/2016 16:55

He hadn't sent my buildings insurance to the mortgage company, despite me specifically checking this with him. By the time he got his arse in gear it was too late for the transfer. He has just emailed (coward) to say that he has done it.

kirinm · 01/06/2016 17:09

Does that mean you can pick up your keys or is it all delayed?

southwest1 · 01/06/2016 17:17

I've finally exchanged and completion is set for the 24th. Just booked the removal, though they first said they wouldn't move out of storage on a Friday but now will. Can't wait for it to all be over, I'm never moving again!

Temp, hope you get in tomorrow.

readingrainbow · 01/06/2016 17:36

Temp that's horrendous. I'd be spitting rage. Angry

We had an AIP with a click of a few buttons thanks to our broker. The actual offer took two months. It was awful.

Temporaryanonymity · 01/06/2016 21:02

I was. I've calmed down now after my ex took me to the pub as we weren't ripping up carpets in my new house. We had a very pleasant time.

Building society and solicitor have confirmed money will be transferred tomorrow by lunchtime. Carpets have to be up by five ish as I've then got to drive up north ready for work Friday am. Carpets fitters are being let in by my father Friday am and I will be home Friday night to start the big move! Hopefully...

kirinm · 02/06/2016 10:48

Spoken to my broker and we should hear about the valuation today or tomorrow. Pretty nervous.

needresolution · 02/06/2016 13:13

If mine are waiting for the mortgage valuation does that mean their searches wont have been done yet?

PotatosMum · 02/06/2016 13:25

Need not necessarily. We want to move ASAP (and weren't expecting the mortgage delay) so I ordered the searches as soon as I had the mortgage in principal... I'll be getter if the application is now rejected but you've got to keep things moving.

You can always ask your solicitor to query what stage the other side are with searches.

needresolution · 02/06/2016 13:29

Thanks yes I'm going to email back solicitor and find out.
