Really crap property photo.

Just nosing about online and came across this.

OK, we can see that the place needs a lot of updating, but you'd think the EA might have recommended that the vendors put some of that junk away. Especially photos 10 & 11.

EAs are mostly, ime, very nervous of asking that sort of thing in case the buyers take umbrage and de-commission them. The photographers are often employed on a day rate to photograph several houses and don't have time to style them (but I would have thought whoever shot it could have moved the dining chair out of the way in Photo 5 ). Ultimately, it's a huge house in a very fashionable area, the agency isn't going to have to try too hard...

POA - does that mean it is mega £, like millions? Forgive me I am up North

I think it can depend. My inlaws put their house on the market last year in the North East. They were really confused why no one had been to see it and asked our opinion.

The photos were terrible - partly because the PIL hadn't tidied up but also the photographer clearly didn't give a shit. Thing is we looked at photos of other houses in the same area and price bracket and they were all shit.

I've only bought and sold in Edinburgh before where the photographer seems to spend far more time staging things.

Wonder if it's a rental? Less likely to do any sort of self-styling to make the place look better.

But very weird to have someone's dirty plate on the table in the dining room photo!

Why is there water in one of the bathroom sinks why is the kitchen bin on top of a microwave box.

Usually I can see past decor and clutter but that is one of the most dreary, depressing properties I've looked at.

POA generally means mega-bucks but also suggests that the agents don't quite know where to pitch the price probably because there are issues with the property (I don't think there is an exterior photo which could be telling). Possibly the owners want to sell it without vacant possession. It usually implies things aren't that straightforward.

Its either rentec out or they have loads of dcs.

That house has a feeling of sadness. Don't like the vibe and I know that is silly .

Looks like rented. There is a bed in what I assume should be the dining room as it has an arch leading to the kitchen!

I'm just fascinated with the people that live there.

Looks like house of multiple occupation to me hence diverse styling tastes, tidiness habits and general don't-give-a-shit appearance. POA probably due to wanting to keep things a bit discrete with tenants....expensive London homes are tanking a bit at the moment...so only over 5million quid or so in my area of interest (which certainly isn't this one although I used to live in N1)...this property is no way that kind of value, I don't think.

The first house is a mess but houses often are even when you go to view ( i have seen places that were so dirty I left before we even got upstairs)

In picture 2 of house 1 it looks like they had their lunch disturbed

House 2 is tidy just very dated, it obviously belongs to old people and hasn't been updated for a long time

I have seen much much worse than the first house (although HEAVE at the state of the mattress in pic 13) - but where is the exterior shot? That is a criminal set of photos for a no-doubt enormous price tag.

In that price range the estate agents are earning a nice commission. We've just put a London property on the market (relatives) for what I thought as a northerner was a ridiculous amount of money so when picking the agents I made sure they were making some effort for the huge money they were getting - our photos were lovely.

I know its London, but the grill across the window pic4 would put me off!

The rest is gross, but easily put in a skip!

The house we ended up buying was so crammed with stuff the estate agent didn't include any internal photos. We were really intrigued by why there were only external shots.

Oh god yes, I've seen far worse too and it certainly wouldn't put me off! like the one we bought (four flats) that we didn't see the ground floor till move in day and the yellow bath was brown

I also agree that it does appear that some (not limited to London) EAs don't seem to give a toss in locations where their fee is pretty much guaranteed whatever the state of the property and that royally pisses me off

When we were selling my parents' house on the south coast we made sure everywhere was decluttered and tidy and loo seats were down even though the place was somewhat dated, before the EA took any pics.

I think that the owners aren't English ( few clues) and possibly have extended family there.
They may not understand how to present a house for more traditional tastes and it looks like the EA hasn't give. Them and advice

Is it me or is there a dark patch at the bottom of half the photos in House 1? I thought it was a stain on the mattress but then subsequent photos all seem to have a 'stain' in the same place. If that's the case, and it's the camera that's adding it somehow, then the estate agents really are to blame!

What is in the bath in the last house? Estate agent photographs give me the rage. Just put a photograph of each room, the front of the house and one of the garden. I don't need to see 5 pictures of feature fireplaces or ceiling roses.
