Would we be mad to up sticks and move to Edinburgh

I am Scots but lived down Sth since I was a teenager. DH and I love Edinburgh and are really thinking about moving North.

Please give me your good and bad points about uprooting and moving from East Anglia to Edinburgh.

I'm out all the time. I don't feel like it is an issue for us at all. It is also genetic I think.

I'm in the same bracket as you dotdot and haven't been feeling great and we didn't do a sunshine holiday this year so maybe I'll pick up a supplement.

I think the MS link is also genetic so if you have sufferers in the family it would defintely be worth a boost.

Having said all that, I don't the issue is as much with being in Scotland per se, it's being in scotland and not getting out and about. I'm probably guilty of that but do make sure my boys get out as much as possible at the weekend in winter since there is scant opportunity during the week it being dark when we leave for school and dark by the time we get back.

Def look at Fife, anywhere on East Coast line, you will get an unbelievably huge house for 600k.
