IKEA sink panic!

We had planned to go to ikea next weekend to pick up the sink and unit. Fell pfor the Domsjo double ceramic (shallow butler type). However went online to check the dimensions and it appears that they no longer sell themShock. The new kitchen catalogue is out for 2015 and has pictures of this sink but you cannot buy it!! Hmm I have been madly googling similar sinks and £££££. Does anyone have an idea where I can get a similar sink for under £200? Liked the fact that it backed right into the wall so no worktop went round the back - esp as we are having wood. Any help much appreciated!

I ordered an IKEA kitchen on Saturday, including this elusive sink. I was told by a member of staff that there had been a problem during manufacture: after being fired in the kiln, the sinks had a bow in them. IKEA have had to stop selling them at present. I was told I would have to wait until March. However, after reading through this thread I am now concerned the wait could be longer. I am also having second thoughts about having a sink with no drainer. I swore I wouldn't have one but then got seduced by the look of it in the kitchen showroom. I have a dishwasher but I wanted a 2 bowl so that I could drain pasta, wash kids hands etc etc if the other sink was full of washing up. I currently have a single bowl sink and it drives me MAD. What is a girl to do? Kitchen plans would need to be altered as the base cabinet would need to change if I change sinks. Have already spent hours trying to find the 'perfect' sink. Yawn.

I got this sink in the end and adore it! It is beautiful and makes the kitchen. I am so glad I made the decision and spent a little more. Think I spent £299 through an independent kitchen fitter. I will try and link it's the villeroy and Bosch sink with the drainer at the back. It has double bowl with a small third bowl !!! Love it!

I just heard from Canada Ikea today that there is no more single Domsjo sink in new Sektion system. I cannot guaranty the infomation but it seams the double Domsjo sink is the only choice for new system.

Hi Ladies, found myself in exactly the same position. Fed up with continually looking on ebay and rip prices......checked again on the IKEA website and phoned the store at Nottingham expecting to be disappointed.....but They actually had 4 in stock !!!!!!!
Perhaps IKEA are reordering ???? Still can't believe it but I've got one for 175.00 !!!

Go for it !

Hi, I just got stung by the same thing. I popped down to Lakeside Ikea this morning to order the kitchen after months of dithering and was told that the sink was out of stock. The sales lady was very helpful, advising that it was only a supply issue and was 100% certain that they would be back in Oct some time.

I spent ages looking for alternative butler sinks but decided there si no option other then to wait and hope.

same problem here. DP drove to Milton Keynes as they apparently had 1 in stock but it was gone by the time he got there. Its the only decision we've made about our new kitchen and I'm going to wait rather than put up with a second best (and more expensive) choice.

If anyone sees them back on sale, please let me know, I'd be prepared to drive almost anywhere for it (not Belfast as getting a ferry for a sink would probably be a bit ridiculous)

Does anyone have any recent news on this double sink? I neeeeeed one. Or an alternative that will avoid the whole wet wood behind the taps scenario.
