the bathroom is rather fabulous. It's actually a lovely house in a nice location that need modernising, but interesting choices...

and the dining room ceiling is a treat

lovely shag pile in the sitting room.

HermioneWeasley · 29/06/2014 20:40

It looks like it's got lawn inside

NinetyNinePercentTroll · 29/06/2014 20:41

Is that CARPET in the kitchen ?! For £3m ?!

[boggle]

HaveToWearHeels · 29/06/2014 20:41

loving the shag pile in the bathroom. I do actually love the deer in the garden !

MaryWestmacott · 29/06/2014 20:42

Hermione, it does, doesn't it? I think the dining room doesn't fit the rest of the house. The rest is dated, but clearly a country barn conversion style, it just looks odd in that house...

Decor aside, it's bloody lovely!

MaryWestmacott · 29/06/2014 20:43

Ninety - it comes with 19.4 acres, in a very nice area, think that's the reason for the price tag...

The stags are superimposed, no? They look painted if you zoom in/pinch out. Weird.

Beautiful building & grounds. Hideous decor & marketing pics

NinetyNinePercentTroll · 29/06/2014 20:44

Ah, sorry, I missed the acreage. I was too busy Confuseding at the stuck on deer and the carpet

Grin

The green shag pile in the living room and going on into the kitchen and the master bedroom come bathroom is a thing of wonder.

The EA has clearly never listened to any of the threads on here which advise putting pictures in some kind of sensible order. Honestly, I'm not sure what some of them do for their commission.

CalamitouslyWrong · 29/06/2014 20:45

I do love the whole round rooms and turrets thing though. There's a bungalow near me with turrets and DH has promised me we can buy it if the owners ever sell it. Just for the turrets.

GemmaTeller · 29/06/2014 20:46

I like it!!

I could live with that decor until I redecorated........

CalamitouslyWrong · 29/06/2014 20:46

The living room is brilliant. It's like a changing rooms episode from the 90s where the people said they wanted to feel like they were sitting in the woods while watching tv.

CalamitouslyWrong · 29/06/2014 20:51

Looking at the floor plans I've realised that the bathroom with the green shag pile isn't, in fact, in the bedroom but across the hall from it. It even has a slightly different shade of green carpet.

My children would love round bedrooms, but I would imagine they're a bugger to furnish.

MaryWestmacott · 29/06/2014 21:19

Calamitously - there's lots of those round oast houses in Kent.

OP posts:
CalamitouslyWrong · 29/06/2014 21:31

We're in the north east, where turrety houses are not common. Kent would be a bit of an inconvenient commute. Grin.

Beaverfeaver2 · 29/06/2014 22:11

Wow, decor might need a little tweek here and there but what a fantastic unusual property

Love it!

WhoWillIBeToday · 29/06/2014 22:19

A harp and 2 swans; that ceiling. Now I know why my house lacks style.

Is it just me that imagines the lord and lady of the manner exchanging bodily fluids on the chaise-longue in photo 18, then cleansing in the adjacent bath?

RuddyDuck · 29/06/2014 22:25

Gulp. The photos of the outside didn't match the photos of the inside (deer apart). Outside looks good, inside - wtf??? Needs a complete makeover. And that dining room ceiling.... Mind you, the bathroom also made me Shock
Lovely building though

burnishedsilver · 29/06/2014 22:25

I think the stags are bronze. They don't look real.

SecretNutellaFix · 29/06/2014 22:29

that pleated silk ceiling is incredible.

MadameDefarge · 29/06/2014 22:31

who puts a swimming pool feet from their back door when they have acres to play with?

The whole thing is a crime.

steppemum · 29/06/2014 22:34

for a minute I thought that this was a house I stayed in last summer!
Very similar.

The round room thing was lovely, except if you have ever tried to cook in a round kitchen with a large round island in the middle.... we were dizzy be the time the food was ready.

Then last winter it flooded.

MaryWestmacott · 29/06/2014 22:35

Whowill, DH looked at that photo and said something similar.

Even with that dining room and that bathroom, it would still be on my lotto win list... (Just get the decorators in ASAP)

Hey, is someone here working on commission? This is linked to in another current thread about curtains. Come on, come clean!
