A house has just come the market on the road next to me, I always liked it from the outside and wondered what the interior is like - it's hideous!!

Do you think it's a bargain?

Gah! This is why:
a. I don't post much
b. I try not to be bitchy

Try again:

Special offer on the floor tiles I'm assuming? Grin
Not a fan myself

CoventryUniversityNetballTeam · 20/05/2014 20:52

That's awful but it's beautiful from outside.

I love the bath/shower though

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 20/05/2014 20:52

I don't think the inside is that bad, not my taste but not bad. I don't like the red kitchen or the sink in the bathroom but I wouldn't call it hideous.

Yamyoid · 20/05/2014 20:53

Ow my eyes. Money doesn't buy taste Grin

traviata · 20/05/2014 20:56

Can you imagine how noisy that house would be to live in? At least three children, probably two of them are teenagers, and the whole place is open plan and filled with hard reflective surfaces. I'm just imagining the endless scrapes of chairs on the tiled floors, clangs, footsteps, electronic bleeps, shouts from upstairs, doors slamming, all echoing & bouncing round the whole place.

BiscuitMillionaire · 20/05/2014 20:57

I used to live in SE Asia and that decor, especially marble floors, reminds me a lot of rich homes there.

Mintyy · 20/05/2014 20:58

Not a fan of the floor tiles - at least not in every room.

Think the exterior is ugly tbh.

But I've seen much much worse!

Marrow · 20/05/2014 21:01

I like the attempt to disguise a lack of storage by covering up their suitcases with a throw!

Jamdoughnutfiend · 20/05/2014 21:07

I think it's just so lovely from the outside and so wrong inside that offends me so much.
I love the threads that people share houses they've seen this one is - not as good as the purple house thread or the one Like an Egyptian house, that had the pharaohs in the bathroom - this one is a bit tame

burnishedsilver · 20/05/2014 21:10

I dont like it from the outside either tbh.

queribus · 20/05/2014 21:14

What's underneath the blanket in picture 7?

Albiebee · 20/05/2014 21:17

What's going on with the mad MC Escher ceilings?

Isabelleforyourbicycle · 20/05/2014 21:18

I bet they all have piles from walking around on those hard floors all the time.

It looks like it should be in a hot country rather than Ealing. Brrrr.

Jamdoughnutfiend · 20/05/2014 21:20

Looks like suitcases or speakers

Traviata, I agree - I do think that my DDs would have a brilliant time on their scooters tho ( until someone ends up in A&e!)

When I walk past at night it looks like they have strip lighting like in a station waiting room

Albiebee · 20/05/2014 21:21

Ha! they asked of ornamental plasterwork, and got 'mental' plasterwork instead. Ha!

I'll get my coat

BeggingYouForBirdseed · 20/05/2014 21:36

Look at the shower!! There's so many buttons, I could spend days in there. Maybe they spent so much on the tiles that they had to scrimp on furniture? If I lived in a million pound house the beds would not be from ikea!

MissBetseyTrotwood · 20/05/2014 22:13

I like the ceilings. Best bit.

I'd rip out the entire rest though. It all looks so… uncomfortable!

MissBetseyTrotwood · 20/05/2014 22:17

My questions are:

Where does the hose go (the one to the right of the loo) in Pic 8? Is it left for, ahem, cleansing?

Why has only half the lawn been done? Pic 13.

lessonsintightropes · 20/05/2014 23:19

It's obviously owned by an Asian family hence tiling throughout (as PP have said, v common in Asia - and sensible there due to the heat - but not in Ealing really); Betsey the hose is for washing one's nether regions post evacuation IYSWIM - totally the norm for Asian families and used to be for southern European/north African too for that matter. They think we are gross and unclean for using loo roll!

Not my taste though - ripping it all out and putting in my taste in flooring (wooden throughout, carpets in bedrooms) would be incredibly expensive. Chipping out the floors alone would cost a fortune. In making it to their taste, they've made it unsaleable to anyone who doesn't have a similar approach to interior design.

ShevelKnievel · 20/05/2014 23:36

The ceiling upsets me

ShevelKnievel · 20/05/2014 23:37

As does the shit lawn

NigellasGuest · 20/05/2014 23:39

if it doesn't have an airing cupboard I'm not interested

CanadianJohn · 21/05/2014 03:48

If I read the floorplan correctly, all four bedrooms on the first floor have to use the ensuite, and the only access is via the master bedroom. Must be a friendly bunch.

VestaCurry · 21/05/2014 04:41

Far better houses for that price in Ealing.
It's just all wrong...
