Looking at wide, wide, wooden blinds and made to measure is faintingly expensive. Have spied blinds2go, look very reasonable, but has anyone used them?

I'm having a really bad experience im afraid! They sent me the wrong blind (I received someone else's!)
They now expect me to repackage the item at my own expense and wait in the entire day to await a courier to collect it.
They have offered no refund! And no money to compensate the fact i have bought materials to repackage.
I have been waiting now almost 3 weeks for my blind!!!!!
The customer service started well and has got worse as the situation has continued.
They haven't even replied to my last two emails.
Very poor customer service.

Bought a made to measure roller blind for a small unusual sized window, bedroom last year, (Originally had one from Hillarys, which was £82 and you couldnt open the window, when I rang the Head Office was told I should never have been sold this particular blind) So then Blinds2go, cannot remember how much I think about £27, perfect. Just had the waterproof Faux wood made for conservatory, big windows and of course lots of them! Less than £60 per blind. The only thing I was not happy with was the courier just dumped them in the porch, I would have thought something this expensive needs a signature.

I have two very large Venetian blinds on two south facing picture windows, from Blinds2go. They are the largest width that they do, a 6ft drop and faux wood, for light weight.

They have been up for 4 years and are brilliant. The price for the two and another matching for a normal size window was about £350. Much cheaper than other quotes. I would certainly use them again.

camflower · 18/06/2016 08:31

recently ordered two blackout blinds from them and they arrived quickly, good price and look nice. only minus point is flimsy white plastic cord (yes I know they have to be able to break apart easily). looks a bit cheap.

Dafadddu · 19/06/2016 15:33

I bought blinds for the house 4 yrs ago. Less than £500 for 14 blinds. Bloody superb and I'd use them again.

megletthesecond · 19/06/2016 15:52

Used them over easter this year. 2 x venetian blinds for kitchen / diner and a bathroom blind.

Delivered on time and no damage. Venetian blinds went up with no problems. Bathroom blind looks fine, although it's not up yet due to men needing to get organised and sort out a handyman.

QuiteLikely5 · 19/06/2016 18:05

I've used them on multiple occasions and they have been great.

Little lotti, how on earth can you grumble about re packaging when surely you saw they were incorrect as soon as you opened them??? You should not have chucked the packaging away!

united4ever · 19/06/2016 19:47

Are they hard to put up yourself? Used hilarys in the past and was good but very pricey. Am i right in thinking that with blinds 2 go and others you submit the dimensions online and they post out for you to fit. Is it easy for someone who is crap at basic diy?

Ladies, I really don't want you to have the same awful experience I did so I'm sharing the review I just wrote for Trustpilot re Blind2go....

'The worst customer service I have ever experienced and product that needs to be binned...waste of money.

I purchased a pair of expensive Roman Blinds from Blinds2go and the product I received was a different size to the accurate measurements I had provided leaving us with two useless, ill-fitting blinds.

Before contacting customer services, I checked my order (which was correct) and then phoned to find out if a mistake had been made and to discuss the best way to rectify the situation.

I was told by a very rude woman that they always take a certain amount off the measurements provided and as far as they are concerned the blinds were correct. I was told that this is clearly on the website and that I obviously hadn't I read it properly...apparently the 'only' thing she could do was offer me a discount (a measly 10%) off a replacement pair. In essence buy another pair of blinds.

Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. Why would I even consider spending any more money with this company if they can't get it right in the first place. I told her this was not a satisfactory resolution for me and I would either want a replacement pair of blinds made to my original measurements or a full reimbursement because they are faulty - she wouldn't agree to either and now I am hundreds of pounds out of pocket.

While on the call, I checked what they actually state on the website, a short phrase (which wasn't that easy to find) says that the company does indeed deduct some off the measurement 'to create a perfect fit'!!!! This is completely laughable as it wasn't a perfect fit at all.

What Blinds2go clearly don't know is how wide or narrow the window frames are, so the blinds I received do not fit anywhere near perfectly and I have large strips of light coming in each side....they do not create a nice dark room and look ridiculous because they are clearly too narrow.

My final point to the women was that if my measurements were incorrect I would take full responsibility for this, but, as Blinds2go had taken it upon themselves to reduce the width creating a far from perfect fit they would need to rectify it. She repeated all she could do was give a discount off a replacement pair.

I am completely astonished by this apalling customer service and inability rectify an error which is theirs...

Please do not give them your custom'

I've just ordered some Roman blinds - they're yet to arrive but I had to select "recess" or "exact". I selected exact. Hope they come at the exact dimensions I asked for Hmm

Trethew · 01/02/2017 11:35

I'm a satisfied customer

namechangedtoday15 · 01/02/2017 11:40

Thought I'd posted this but seems to have disappeared.

LWaterhouse - did you choose "recess" or "exact" when you ordered the blind? I wanted to order a blind for a recess, but noted that they routinely change the measurements. So I just called them, explained that I didn't want them reduced by the amounts on the website, agreed what size they would be and received a lovely blind that fits exactly.

AgentProvocateur · 01/02/2017 11:50

I ordered three roman blinds from them for a huge bay window in a tenement. They were a fraction of the price of other suppliers, and the blinds are still going strong seven or eight years later. I can't recommend them enough.

Mrsladybirdface · 01/02/2017 12:12

I've recently ordered..I think the recession instructions are pretty clear and they state they will reduce the blind either side by 10mm. If it's more than that then you probably have a case.

Sidge · 01/02/2017 12:26

I've had 3 blinds from Blinds2Go and they were brilliant. Right colour, right size and good quality.

It's quite clear on the website that for recessed blinds they reduce the size by 10mm to allow for clearance away from the wall. When you input your measurements there's a ? icon on "fitting option" which explains it.

So if you measure wall-to-wall for your recess, order that size and they will reduce 5mm each side so your blind doesn't scrape against the wall. If you order 'exact' they will supply a blind exactly that size.

I'm happy with my blinds, I found them easy to order and delivery was quick. Mine fit perfectly.

mnhbvz193 · 07/04/2020 20:21

I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM. THEY WERE A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY FOR US. Hi, my husband ordered 2 blinds after talking with their telephone representative to confirm he was ordering the correct blinds. The blinds were the wrong size. It turns out they don't even sell the correct blinds. The blinds were returned. Blinds2go did not refund the delivery costs.

Helenetheawesomewife · 07/04/2020 20:31

I WILL NEVER USE BLINDS2GO AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM. THEY WERE A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY FOR US. My husband spoke to their telephone sales to confirm he was ordering the correct items before placing the order (2 Keylite roof window blinds). They were the wrong size. It turns out they don't even sell the correct size for our blinds. The blinds were returned, but they won't refund the delivery costs.

MontysOarlock · 07/04/2020 21:58

VERY SHOUTY COMMENTS by two "unrelated" people it would seem. These husbands seem to be the ones doing the ordering and the wives are the ones complaining.

The original thread for this was from 2014 and has been updated over the years.

We have used Blinds2go for the last decade at least. If you can read, it says recessed blinds are reduced in size to allow free movement of the blind. You can order an exact size where no reduction in width is made.

Blinds2go are a good quality blind company. We have had roller blinds, roman blinds and wooden venetians over the years. We have always been happy with their products. The sample service is great too.

No I don't work for them, have been on MN a long time and get annoyed when people search the internet to add their rant about a company on a thread that has been zombied for a while.

Pinotpleasure · 08/04/2020 12:44

Another satisfied customer here! I needed a kitchen blind for an early 1970s house with a very wide (92”) window which isn’t very high. I could find nothing at all in the usual places (Argos/B&Q/Homebase/Dunhelms/John Lewis) as due to the width I could only really have something made to measure.

My husband double checked the exact measurement of the window, knowing that Blinds 2 Go would take off the 10mm for a roller blind to fit inside the recess. It is a lovely plain cobalt blue which looks great with my white kitchen cabinets and dark grey floor. Very happy with the product.

wowfudge · 08/04/2020 15:05

Me too - satisfied customer. Used them after my sister recommended them.

MyNameIsJane · 08/04/2020 15:35

I’m a satisfied customer too. I ordered some bifold blinds and they look great. My sister got bifold blinds too and really rates them.

I’m about to order Roman blinds from there for my living room. Can’t wait!

BruceAndNosh · 08/04/2020 17:04

Very happy customer here.
Have ordered various day night (zebra) blinds from them.
Good quality and delivery time.

I cocked up one measurement and blind was too wide for the recess. Definitely my fault, but they gave me a significant discount on the correct size replacement

Whenwillthisbeover · 08/04/2020 21:11

Not the same quality as Laura Ashley, I have both. However for the price that are good and I would use them again.
