Looking at wide, wide, wooden blinds and made to measure is faintingly expensive. Have spied blinds2go, look very reasonable, but has anyone used them?

As a professional seamstress, I would never describe Laura Ashley Roman blinds as quality. I've had to remake several wonky ones from there.

The worst customer service iv have ever…
The worst customer service iv have ever found. Ordered £59 single blind for a door. What turned up was completely different that the picture sample shown on their web site. Pattern was 4 times smaller than shown on web site. Phone several times and they will not refund but can only give me 25% off next order. Which I defo will not order from them again. Pictures below. They say their picture on web site are a digital image and not a true representation of the blind ! Which says it all. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM you will be wasting a lot of money

mothergooseinnorthwest · 08/04/2021 13:30

We bought two from them for a quick fix. They are okay although one came 1 cm narrower and showed a lot of day light. We got a full refund for that one.
I would go for a better quality one when we do up the bedroom properly, though. All considered, I would say the price matches the quality.

Always bought our blinds from here (and some curtains) and never had any issues. Just received our new day and night blinds today and they’re fab

@Ldruk bless you for resurrecting a thread from 2014 FFS.

Did you ever think to order a sample of the material before you ordered a blind? They are very helpful sending through samples in the post meaning you get to see and feel the material before placing an order.

Lots of people, myself included, have ordered from Blinds2go and had no issues with them at all. I have used them for the last decade for lots of different blinds having moved house.

drpet49 · 08/04/2021 20:56

I am a very satisfied customer too

Ldruk · 08/04/2021 21:18

Ah bless you ketchup on the floor for even finding the the to want to reply to a post that started in 2014. You see something on a web site . You think yes that looks nice I think I will buy that. It turns up nothing like the picture and not even at check out does it warn you that you must get a sample first because the actual product you will receive will look nothing like the stock picture. Bing oh there is an idea perhaps that should put an alert up on the web site saying that. FFS

MirandaMarple · 08/04/2021 21:24

Yes, very impressed. I paid for the 'measurement insurance' too because I just don't trust myself with a tape measure. It was about £8.

KetchupOnTheFloor · 08/04/2021 21:45

@Ldruk I didn't "find" this thread. In case you are new to MN when you posted on a thread back in the days it used to be added to a "watch this thread" list automatically so when I came onto MN tonight it showed a little symbol telling me I had a notification of either someone mentioning me in a thread or posting on a thread I am watching.

Times have changed and it doesn't automatically do it now, you have to check the box, but clearly in the depths of time this has remained on there for me from years ago.

As a possible new member of MN, welcome, and secondly I think you will find that you are in the minority having problems with Blinds2go, many satisfied customers have posted on this board over the years. When buying a blind online it is always advisable to get a sample just to hold it up to the window and see how much light it lets in or whether the colour matches your colour scheme.

Blinds2Go completely messed up with my order and have refused to refund or exchange.

I gave them the TOTAL measurement for my recess, thinking they would work out the calculations with fittings etc, but they did not. The blind with the end fittings was made just over 2cm wider than my recess and would not fit.

I contacted customer service on numerous occasions, they asked for photos, which I sent back again and again, and even took a video of their error, but they would not take any responsibility for their error.

Customer service, although they did respond quickly, they were not helpful, just repeating them selves over and over.

I will now have to go to another blind company to purchase another roller blind leaving me out of pocket. Do not buy from this company, I am sure there are much better blind companies online, that provide a much better product, get the measurements right and provide decent customer service.

I would not recommend Blinds2Go.

BruceAndNosh · 25/01/2023 09:21

I mis measured a recess so my blind was too wide.
It IS posssible to adjust them yourself. I needed a hacksaw with metal blade, a straight edge and a Stanley knife

GasPanic · 25/01/2023 12:19

Found them generally very good.

I have had a lot from them. Only two problems. One was the blinds were hard to fit, but this was because I pushed their minimum limits on the sizing. My fault entirely.

Second was when they tied the loops on the blinds, they tied the string in such a way it was almost impossible to untie them. I complained, and I think other people have done too because they now tie them in a way which is much easier to untie.

The ones that I damaged in untying they sent me free of charge replacements.

ChatSamosa · 25/01/2023 13:53

Yes really great experience. I took out the measurement insurance and was convinced I'd got it right and still got it wrong on one occasion. Great customer service.

Well, they are extremely clear about the measurements they require.
You were careless and didn't read their (very clear) instructions so why on earth should they refund you?
Honestly, 🤣

Trethew · 26/01/2023 02:18

Have bought made to measure blinds from them several times over last 8 years. All been very good. Clear instructions on how to measure. Easy to fix fittings. Samples supplied. Would recommend without hesitation.
