Anyone else just gone on the market?

We have and I am feeling very nervous about it!

Had 4 viewings so far, not had any feedback yet. I think our house is lovely and it is in a very favourable position. Hope someone else agrees!

Wondered if anyone in the same position fancied nail biting with me? Grin

We have. It is indeed very nerve racking! We have had one viewer - great feedback but we don't have off street parking so think that will put them off. Have another viewing next week. Nightmare keeping the house clean and tidy all the time!

ShoeWhore · 26/04/2014 20:29

Thanks vintage. Know what you mean about clean and tidy - I'm not a natural domestic goddess and it's killing me!

I've just sold mine - took about a week to get an offer. Maybe consider an open house if you want to sell quickly?

ShoeWhore · 27/04/2014 10:28

We did discuss open house with the EA but she felt it wasn't right for our market - we are outside the SE and the market is moving but is much smaller and certainly not as fast.

On the upside, buyers don't have masses of choice and if they want period features, walking distance to town and a quiet road, our road is pretty much it. There also aren't many bigger houses full stop.

How you getting on Shoe?

We had a viewer today who seemed to really like our house, and said it is the only one they have seen in their price range that they wanted to view. We have another viewer tomorrow afternoon, so fingers crossed. At least the house should hopefully still be tidy!

ShoeWhore · 30/04/2014 20:55

Ooh that sounds promising Love

Had some more viewings and got some feedback. All very positive but noone is in a position to actually make an offer Hmm

One couple have asked if they can rent it with a view to buying it later. Erm, no.

Wow. Just wow to that couple ShoeWhore.

We've been on the market a week and have had 6 viewings, 3 more coming up, great feedback but no one wants to buy.

We've been looking at houses, upsizing, and have yet to find anywhere in budget with bigger floorspace, so why isn't our place going!

Fingers crossed for tomorrow Love, our place has honestly never been this tidy.

Pufflemum · 02/05/2014 10:12

Can I join you? Went on the market Tuesday, have had six viewings. I know feel really depressed as the Estate Agent seems to get pleasure out of passing on negative feedback! Apparently two viewings intend to come back, so I know I'm being unreasonable. I can't stop obsessively googling houses either!

ShoeWhore · 02/05/2014 10:18

That sounds promising puffle - better negative feedback and second viewings than all positive and them not returning.

Our estate agent said generally the less keen they look, the more keen they really are Grin - seems to be holding true so far!

Well our viewing seemed to go ok yesterday but the viewer is looking in other areas as well as ours so hard to call. Both our viewers this week seemed to love the house and our garden but who knows.

I feel quite flat now as we don't have any more viewers lined up at the moment. Also feel knackered with the stress of it all - esp the amount of housework I am having to do Smile

We are buying my late father-in-law's house, which is the only reason we are selling, and I know this is not as stressful as looking to buy on the open market, but because we know where we are going, we just want to sell and get moved.

Puffle know what you mean, but all feedback is useful I suppose and if you have two coming back, that is really positive.

I constantly google as well, to see what else is on the market which would be in competition with ours..

ShoeWhore · 03/05/2014 10:15

Any more news puffle?

We've no more viewings this weekend and I'm feeling a bit despondent. Could it be people are just busy with it being the bank holiday?

OP posts:
Pufflemum · 03/05/2014 14:03

Neither of the second viewings have been back yet. We have a viewing this afternoon and one on Tuesday. Just gone live on Right move so hopefully that will drum up more. It's taken me four years to persuade DH to move so I need us to sell before he changes his mind!

I'm guessing the bank Holiday and sunny weather will mean it s a quiet weekend for all us, on the bright side at least we can make a mess and hang out the washing!

LoveVintage · 07/05/2014 17:11

Any news?

Our solicitor phoned viewers for feedback and one couple are very interested so fingers crossed.

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 08/05/2014 13:48

Found a dream house but it's 20k more than our highest, scrape money together, budget. Must sell one if the children.

We've had an offer but it's not great. Asking for more and anther viewing Saturday!

How's it going puffle?

ShoeWhore · 08/05/2014 14:20

No news here. Have arranged to speak to the estate agent tomorrow. Not sure whether we should be worries or if I am being unrealistic!

House is a tip again thanks to lack of viewings, must try and put that right Blush

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 08/05/2014 16:48

Ours is a tip too!
3 viewings for the weekend and offer lady won't budge on price. Her loss, all our neighbour are due babies shortly Grin

Pufflemum · 16/05/2014 17:53

No positive news here. 10 viewings in week one and nothing since. I am so fed up. We are now looking into a let to buy mortgage which looks quite encouraging. How's it going for you?

KayVerinder · 16/05/2014 18:04

We've been on since Christmas and had one viewing Hmm don't know what the problem is because it is quite a nice little house.

Can't believe you all who have been on less than a week and had loads of viewings!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 16/05/2014 18:08

Kay why not post a link to your house on a thread - loads have done it and had some good criticisms or hints and tips on seeing the house and can maybe offer some help.

Good luck to all the house sellers out there!

KayVerinder · 16/05/2014 18:09

I think I might die!!! If I put it on here would you have a look?

KayVerinder · 16/05/2014 18:11

I know that would be quite cheeky to shoe who're but I couldn't bear a 'look at my house' threadBlush

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 16/05/2014 18:19

Of course!! If anything its always nice when people say "Your house is beautiful!"

KayVerinder · 16/05/2014 18:29

Thank you!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 16/05/2014 18:38

Ok, ive had a look and cast my non expert eye and you need more photos!! So many of my friends just ruled a house out on the photos.

Maybe add some "homely" touches in - cushion, vase of freh flowers, rug in the lounge.
