Apologies to PaythePiper about stealing your title from a year ago Grin

So, I want to buy some Eames DSW replicas. I have read all of the previous threads but we are a year down the line. Which did you get and are they any good? We the company you bought them from any good?

(Not just a question for PaythePiper but for anyone who has bought replicas. I cannot afford 4 real ones so that is sadly out of the question...)

Watching with interest. I've just ordered one from Cult Furniture to check out the quality before ordering more.

Used code WEBGAINS10 FOR £10 off £50 spend.

Mocker · 14/04/2014 13:24

MrsAlwaysRight. Cool, can you let me know what you think when you get them?

Just so you know, I have also posted in Chat as there is more traffic there.

Also following with interest. I have found some for £35, with the metal legs. Not too bothered really on how long they last as I will have gone off them in 3-4 years but obviously want some nicer looking ones.

Can I ask what sort of table you are going to use them with I am still struggling to make my mind up.

HaveToWearHeels · 14/04/2014 16:27

Sorry just noticed the ones I like are DSW skulks away Blush

Mocker · 14/04/2014 18:12

HaveToWearHeels - everyone welcome here! They are pretty much the same chair so I guess if we find the good suppliers of one they will be the same for the other!

I currently have an ikea beech table (which I think they would have looked fab with) but have just bought this. I am hoping it goes...

OOOH that is lovely Mocker, what colour chair were you thinking off ? You could get away with any colour with that table.

Mocker · 14/04/2014 20:42

Thanks HaveToWearHeels. I went on a bit of furniture buying spree (from that site) this weekend Blush. It's my new favourite site (but was glad for sale prices!)

I originally thought of blue or grey chairs but think I might stick with white...

OP posts:
Mocker · 14/04/2014 20:43

So, what type of table are you thinking about?

OP posts:
HaveToWearHeels · 14/04/2014 21:28

Blue or white would be lovely.
I was looking at a tulip pedastal table in white but now I am not so sure. We have a formal dining room so this table and chairs is just for the kitchen. It is a very modern, white gloss kitchen, with polished porcelain tiles, two walls are lime green and the other two and off white. I was going for the lime green chairs.
It need to be round really (small square might be ok) as then it tucks away. My reservation on the table is the pedastal, I want the chairs to tuck under and the pedastal might now allow this (reason I am getting rid of current on. So I am thinking maybe glass with legs so you can see the chairs ?.

Mocker · 14/04/2014 22:52

Hmmm... Tulip tables are nice.

I was just wondering, I really like the light coloured wood legs. They do dark (maple) which may go better with the table. Sob. What do you think?

I love your table, Mocker. What a great site. I also like Eames chairs, so following the thread with interest.

toastedteacake · 15/04/2014 01:33

Has anyone tried this company?

£59; to good to be true?

HaveToWearHeels · 15/04/2014 08:31

Mocker Yes I think I like the dark legs with your table, especially with the blue.

I have used Dwell in the past (current table is Dwell) they are pretty good but can't vouch for those specific chairs.

Mocker · 15/04/2014 09:16

Hmm... the dark legs look better but I prefer the light legs. Will they look funny do you think?

I'm sure my SIL got hers from Tesco Direct...

here...www.tesco.com/direct/charles-eames-inspired-eiffel-dsw-red-dining-chair/746-9417.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=532-7938 £47

hers a white and lovely!

HaveToWearHeels · 15/04/2014 13:13

No I don't think they will look funny with the lighter legs, I think that is the joy of these chairs they go with anything. Hare are some with a darker table.

Has anyone used the website "Joss&Main" they have some really good deals on really different house stuff. Look what is available today www.jossandmain.co.uk/Modern-Made-over-Hayfield-Chair~KSY1142~E199.html

Mocker · 16/04/2014 12:44

HaveToWearHeels - I saw those too. I signed up a few days ago but haven't bought anything. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has. Delivery lead time is quicker than ACHICA.

froginthepond · 16/04/2014 18:24

I just googled for reviews on Joss and Main, turns out they get a lot of bad reviews.

Mocker · 16/04/2014 20:41

Oh no. I have only just found out about them and they seem to have lovely stuff Sad

Beaverfeaver2 · 16/04/2014 21:10

I bought 5 in different colours (which, cream, real, mustard, grey)

They are gorgeous and so comfy!

Much prefer them to the expensive leather ones they replaced

HaveToWearHeels · 16/04/2014 21:34

Where did you get them from Beaver >

frog I have ordered from them twice and no problems here. I suppose it's pot luck. I have have heard people slate Achica too.

MrsAlwaysRight · 16/04/2014 21:49

Still waiting for mine, hasn't even been dispatched yet

Annoyingly one of the other colours I want to order is now out of stock and not expected to be in stock for a couple of month Sad

Beaverfeaver2 · 16/04/2014 21:56

eBay, £35 each. Arrived very quickly and I can't tell the difference between these and the £89 on cult furniture or the £200+ from john lewis

If one breaks it I fancy a colour change, it's bit the end of the world to buy another at that price

HaveToWearHeels · 16/04/2014 22:17

Beaver I have these on my watch list, actually they are in my basket but I had a wobble lol
