Pull up a chair and talk to me about...Eames dining chairs - a year on

Apologies to PaythePiper about stealing your title from a year ago Grin

So, I want to buy some Eames DSW replicas. I have read all of the previous threads but we are a year down the line. Which did you get and are they any good? We the company you bought them from any good?

(Not just a question for PaythePiper but for anyone who has bought replicas. I cannot afford 4 real ones so that is sadly out of the question...)

This is the ebay link I bought from:

Thanks Beaver good to know the cheaper ones are just as good. As I said upthread, I am not too worried as I change things around so often they probably wont have time to get worn Wink

Mocker · 17/04/2014 09:01

Beaver they look great, thanks! I am also looking at using my Nectar points. I am the same as HaveToWearHeels in that I can see in a few years I will want to change so happy to buy cheaply now. Great so see the quality is good.

Ok, my table isn't coming for a few weeks. Do I wait and then order 1 to check they aren't too low (new table is 76cm high) or just go for it and order 6? Then it's done Grin

Mocker I think 76cm is pretty standard for a table. Are the chairs free delivery if so just go with one if you want to make sure.

MrsAlwaysRight · 23/04/2014 13:27

Mocker did you order any in the end? I'm still waiting for mine to be dispatched from Cult Furniture.

Mocker · 23/04/2014 20:51

Yes, I ordered from interioraddict.com in the end (after far too much much deliberation!)

I phoned them to check whether they had them in stock and they reduced the price of both the chairs and delivery so I got quite a deal. Ordered yesterday and will be delivered tomorrow, I could name the day and have already received the tracking details.

I will report back. Do you have any idea on a leadtime?

Sounds good! What colour did you go for in the end?

I've emailed them today and they expect it to be dispatched on Friday.

Mocker · 23/04/2014 21:34

White. How about you?

OP posts:
MrsAlwaysRight · 23/04/2014 21:35

I've ordered a teal one. Planning to get a mixture of colours if the quality OK.

Mocker · 23/04/2014 22:13

I was worried if I ordered one and then ordered the rest I would get a different batch and they wouldn't match. I'm just a bit OCD within things like that.

And imam still worried they will be too low for my table (which doesn't arrive until next week). Argh.

Exciting though Grin

We've got two white ones from interior addict and two white ones that are the real McCoy. Side by side it is fairly easy to see which are which (the moulded plastic of the interior addict ones is a tiny bit thinner, the surface a bit shinier and wooden legs lighter and less shiny). But really, they're pretty good. On opposite sides of the table (and yes you do feel a bit short sat on them) you don't notice a difference. We've had them nearly two years and other than the bolts needing tightening in the undersides, they're holding up really well.

HaveToWearHeels · 27/05/2014 18:40

How did everyone get on with their chairs ? Just about to buy four of these. Are they really low compared to a normal height chair ?

lillythep · 01/10/2014 11:26

I bought 4 from www.pash-living.co.uk over a year ago & I'm really happy with them - they've taken quite a bit of battering from the kids and are holding up better than I am!

iggymama · 01/10/2014 12:42

Are the fake chairs lighter in weight than the real ones?

I am a fair way from buying them yet, but will be looking for light weight chairs that are easy to lift as well as comfy of course.
