try this

Nice bathroom!

foofooyeah · 02/12/2013 23:10

Why on earth did the estate agent suggest they de clutter a bit before they took the pics!,

RandomMess · 02/12/2013 23:12

Reckon it will sell no problem though - inexpensive for London!

AuditAngel · 02/12/2013 23:14

Busy. Need I say more?

BitOutOfPractice · 02/12/2013 23:15

Don't people tidy the fuck up?

tribpot · 02/12/2013 23:19

I like the upside sewing machine above the sink the bathroom. Handy!

What if the estate agent did tell them to de-clutter and this is what it looked like afterwards?!

I see it's listed as 'cash buyers only' - what does that mean? (I mean beyond the obvious).

80sMum · 02/12/2013 23:22

Is that a phone on the bathroom wall?

VanitasVanitatum · 02/12/2013 23:39

Cash buyers only might mean it's not mortgageable, which would explain the price!

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 02/12/2013 23:44

You know that episode of Friends where Monica HAS to go and clean Rebecca Romijn's flat because she can't bear the idea that there is somewhere so disgusting in the same city as her? That's how I feel now.

That shower curtain! BOAK.

500internalerror · 02/12/2013 23:44

Im in the phone so I can't see the photos clearly; what's that track thing behind the shower curtain?

beaglesaresweet · 02/12/2013 23:51

it's a concrete block of flats, hence 'cash buyers'
Yes mind boggles why would agents even want to take photos instead of showing a floor plan!
And what's all this curly stuff hanging from the ceiling lights Grin?

thanks fo linking, Shoe!

Interesting that it was last sold in 2006 for £30,000 more!

beaglesaresweet · 03/12/2013 00:01

well concrete is supposed to deteriorate, maybe in 2006 people could still get a mortgage on these.
I just wonder how do people can be in the flat and look at all this every evening, all evening Grin without getting tired. Just so busy and chaotic AND bright colours!

OP posts:
beaglesaresweet · 03/12/2013 00:01

can, not 'do'

NoComet · 03/12/2013 00:07

For goodness sake you lot are mean.
It's an ordinary family trying to do their best living on a tight budget in a too small flat.

Lots of us live with with a mishmash of hand me down furniture and without the latest F&B paint.

I have a falling apart '70's kitchen and a avocado bathroom.

We turned the money into holidays, trampolines, gymnastics, water sports, days out and fun, not pointless white sinks, to replace perfectly functional green ones.

beaglesaresweet · 03/12/2013 00:14

there are lots of small flats on rightmove though which are uncluttered or have more peaceful colours. It's cheap to paint or to buy some cabinets on ebay/ikea to store stuff! I just think the famile who lives three created extra stress for themselves, they have nowhere to rest! I BET they are snappy or grumpy as as result Grin

MairzyDoats · 03/12/2013 00:16

I love that when I opened the link on my phone the ad at the top of the page is for a skip hire company!

beaglesaresweet · 03/12/2013 00:24

haha Mairzy, message from above to them.

OP posts:
TheZeeTeam · 03/12/2013 00:40

It's not cheap to buy paint and buy some Ikea cabinets if you don't have any bloody money! And at least they've put their own stamp on the place, as opposed to a bunch of monkeys all designing the same tree

Fwiw, if I see one more house tastefully painted in Elephant's Breath, I may start throwing things at the screen.

frostyfingers · 03/12/2013 08:00

It may be a student flat, hence loads of stuff everywhere. It's messy yes, but most of it is surface stuff - it's easy to see straight through that and to what's behind it.

minipie · 03/12/2013 08:28

It's not the paint colours or the fact it hasn't been modernised that people are getting at Starball

It's all the stuff everywhere. Those mobile things hanging from the bedroom ceiling. Ornamental plates on the wall. Random gadgets in the bathroom. lots of bottles out on the kitchen surfaces, and the bedroom floor.

My guess is though that it's an elderly person's flat and they haven't got the energy or physical capability to declutter Sad some of my gran's house looks a bit like this.

OnePlanOnHouzz · 03/12/2013 10:41

Jeepers !! That's one full home !! Hope they find a new, bigger one !

beaglesaresweet · 03/12/2013 12:39

no way it's student flat, students tend to have not much stuff but just lots of clothes on the floor and mess/dirt if they are the messy types. I'm not a fan of copycat paints at all - it's just the place is so unrestful! Literally there is nowhere to rest your eyes - and after a busy day in London you need that, believe me. Probably the poster is right about the elderly - maybe their eyesight is just bad, also lots of brown furniture.
