bengal tiger (leyland). Nice warm grey stoney colour with a tiny hint of cream, and a undertone of pink

PigletJohn · 26/10/2013 14:04

beige.

smudgedgraffiti · 26/10/2013 16:28

Two Farrow & Ball recommendations - Slipper Satin (pale sandy creamy grey, gorgeous in all lights), and Old White (mid-tone grey with olive/khaki tones, gorgeous). Both had lots of compliments in our newly decorated rooms Smile

SadPander · 26/10/2013 16:28

Fired earth oak apple - love it. Also B&Q colours antique white. Less pleased with Farrow and Ball Grey, which despite the name is neither blueish or greyish but more of a pale green. Lesson learnt, always buy a tester!

Ihatemytoes · 26/10/2013 16:46

Dulux Just Walnut. a lovely warm grey.

Flossiechops · 26/10/2013 18:25

No matter what other paints I try I still love Dulux Egyptian Cotton.

ggirl · 26/10/2013 18:30

little green paint co. starlings nest ...comes out a pale duck egg...everyone admires it

Jalexis · 26/10/2013 18:34

Just about to paint bedroom with Farrow and Ball Strong White- a lovely creamy grey, and nursery in Cabbage White, a very pale and bright duck egg shade.

wetaugust · 26/10/2013 23:56

Flossie
How would you describe Eygptian Cotton as I am considering it for the kitchen. Is the tint yellowy / beige-y/ coffee-ish / caramelish etc.

I'm looking for something very neutral that would go with ivory and with steel grey.

Mrspebble · 26/10/2013 23:57

I love Mulberry Silk by Dulux

Mellow sage by crown..

Both lovely.. Subtle

Hoolit · 27/10/2013 00:03

Dulux egyption cotton for the bedroom and silver lustre pure opulence for 2 sides of kitchen wall rest of kitchenI white. Dove grey by leyland in hall way.

Quodlibet · 27/10/2013 09:50

We've used Little Green Echo and Bone China Mid (2 separate rooms) and love both of them. Bought about a million tester pots both times. The coverage with little green seems much better than F and B, and you get a lovely subtle colour that changes with the light in a really nice way.

AppleYumYum · 27/10/2013 09:56

Fired Earth Ecru, gorgeous fawn colour in our bathroom, really calming.

Misty9 · 27/10/2013 22:43

Crown sandcastle in our living room and hallway/stairs/landing: a lovely warm beige colour, which changes according to lighting.
Also, happy daze (dulux?) in toddler ds's room: a gorgeous warm yellow (north facing cold room).
Oh, and roasted red dulux, to complement the sandcastle as feature walls in said living room :)

mylittlemonkey · 27/10/2013 23:12

I second mellow sage by Crown. Also sophisticated sage Dulux timeless range. It looks lovely against the white skirting boards and window frames! We are also in the process if painting our dining roon in pale saphire by laura ashley. We have just moved house so working our way around room by room!

soundevenfruity · 28/10/2013 00:08

Another vote for Starling's egg from Little green. It's like living in a cloud.

soundevenfruity · 28/10/2013 00:12

Loved Blue Moon from eico but it's hard to find a stockist locally.

timidviper · 28/10/2013 00:29

We have one wall darker in the kitchen to give a bit of "depth" and used Mouse's Back by Farrow and Ball. I'm not usually a fan of their paints but this is lovely

Flossiechops · 28/10/2013 06:46

wetaugust Egyptian cotton is like a beigey stone colour. Having tried various F&B paints I still love this one - we have an Edwardian house with picture rails so paint above in white and then EC below - looks lovely Smile

littleomar · 28/10/2013 06:56

F&B strong white (pale warm grey) and calluna (lavender, but barely - blue and grey depending on tme of day).

ILoveAFullFridge · 28/10/2013 07:01

We tried about 40 colours and shades, and ended up with:

Magnolia!

It's truly lovely Smile. Warm, bright, uplifting. Paired it with rich colours on the floor. Utterly surprised at how much we love it.

BraveMerida · 28/10/2013 08:57

Magnolia! NOOOOOOOO!!!

Seems to be lots of greys about.....will these 50 shades of grey become very dated as quickly as....well you know...the book?!

We previously painted our stairwell/ hall/ landing with fired earth's summer lichen, which is really lovely, and seems similar to crown's mellow sage.....think my MIL was trying to emulate it but ended up with a very slightly bright lime colour.

Farrow and Ball Pavillion Grey Charlotte's Locks, Strong white. Not in the same room.

So only one shade of grey ...
