Why hasn't this house sold in Kent?

Any thoughts on why this has not sold? It is one of the most expensive 3 bed houses in Ramsgate.

But it is reasonably priced for its location in the best part of Ramsgate. Other detatched houses on that street and in that area (westcliff) selll/sold for much higher.
Are people just not buying by the seaside or is there something that would put you off?

I'd get rid of the RED walls and PURPLE carpet and curtains and YELLOW walls.

I like bold decor and most of the rest of the house, but they are SHOUTING at the prospective buyers.

it's very square - i don't like it, makes me think i'd knock into all those hard corners

It looks awesome to me. Nice tree lined streets, fab garden, great decor. If it was in budget and in the area I was looking in I would definitely view.

I think its lovely and in the next couple of weeks should hopefully be viewing properties there, since looking it seems as though not much is shifting in that area, which is good for us buyers. Theres quite a few for me to view around westcliff. Is that you house ?

Interesting - it looks like a great buy, if it is priced appropriately for the area.

There is quite a big discrepancy between the style of the outside of the house and the inside - people who love that kind of open plan, high quality contemporary interior might not be so keen on the exterior from the front.

It is beautifully presented - so that definitely isn't it.

The lack of floorplan would annoy me - so I'd be asking the agent to get one done pronto.

How long has it been on for? August is usually a really crap month as everyone is away on holiday.

Yes, I was going to say no floor plan as well.

I glance at photos to get an idea of state of decor and then look at the floor plan. To me the floor plan is more important than the photos as the layout is harder to change then decor. I make a decision on whether to view or not based on the floor plan and if a house doesn't have a floor plan I might not bother wasting time viewing if I have plenty of other options.

Agree that it needs a floor plan. If it has been on for a while, could be worth repainting the two large upstairs bedrooms in more neutral colours as in the bunk bed room.
Other suggestions would be to get some colourful pots for the garden as it looks a bit bland although it is a great size. Also ditch photo 18 as it looks like a laboratory rather than a house. I like white kitchens but they can look a bit clinical. Is there anyway you could 'warm' it up a bit for the photos?

OneStepCloser - I'd be interested to hear more when you have looked at other houses. Yes it is Westcliff and I just did a draw search on rightmove - it does seem to be exactly right price for area with similar properties roughly same price. There are only 2 much cheaper 3 bed houses in this area a bungalow and this www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-40301806.html?premiumA=true.

all other in this area are much high in price but also bigger with 4 beds.

Thanks for feedback everyone. Colours are a bit loud but I guess floor plan is biggest problem that could easily be solved.

I don't know the area but I wouldn't by that house because I would have to carpet downstairs, the kitchen seems to be open plan to the conservatory and I hate open plan kitchens and it has that weird playschool through the round window thing going on in the back garden.

It feels a bit 'cold' to me; a bit clinical. It's very stylised,and I guess it's not my style.

I love the bathroom though.

The lack f floor plan would put me off.

I'm not sure some of the decor hangs together.

Tara, Ive been watching the area closely for about 6 months and unfortunately (if your selling) it looks like a bit of a buyers market there, which is hard for sellers.

Ive just had a quick look through again and so many have been up for sale for quite some time now which must be really disheartening

I`m always disappointed if theres no floor plan as I try to work out from the description how it flows and I usually get it wrong!

I would try and tone down the two really brightly coloured bedrooms too. If at all possible replace the purple carpet. The colour combinations are very unique and will immediately put some people off. I'd be doing an instant calculation as to how much the re-paint & re-carpet would cost and factoring in the hassle too.

Tara, sorry also would have viewed yours as its in the area we want, but we need a four bed (not that bungalow though, I dont like it from the outside!).

See I quite like the open plan of the kitchen, with the conservatory. I dont like the open plan when its the whole of the downstairs if you know what I mean, I like to cook with the radio on not listening to DS watching star wars or whatever.

I much prefer yours to the others you linked to, I don't think the decor makes a difference to be honest. The kitchen and bathroom are lovely and appear spacious. I would solve the open plan problem (which is obviously only a problem for me not all buyers) by having doors fitted between all the downstairs rooms if I was to buy it but I wouldn't want to pay the asking price because of the cost of doing that and carpeting.
