Grey kitchen cupboards? Help please!

Have to make a decision in the (fading) light. I would really like light grey cabinets and am differing between Cornforth White F&B, Fired Earth Pearl Ashes, and Fired earth Crom Fog.

It's for a south facing small kitchen in an extension to a Victorian terrace. And I don't want anything too blue.

Does anyone have any experience of how there paints will look. We're not in the house and there is no lighting at the moment, so I'm having to do this blind.

Cornforth White is quite blue, ime. I don't know the other two - tester pots?

Thanks, I've got the testers but am going cross eyed! Does c White really look grey? It just looks a bit sludgy to me.

Grey White or perhaps even Calamine or Middleton Pink would look good (F&B)
I've just chosen Blackened for my bathroom which looks great with grey/white tiles.

I have grey units and have James white and blackened.

What sort of a worktop do you have and floor?
I'm getting a new kitchen and am obsessed with pale greys.

I have Cornforth white on my cupboards and no hint of blue. I was going between cf and pavilion grey but decided on cf. I have not regretted the choice. It's like a creamy grey in my kitchen and looks great with the black granite work tops.

I couldn't find the grey I had in my head in F&B and ended up with a Dulux paint called Found Fossil which is a slightly warm grey. Def not blue.

I must be getting my F&B shades mixed up - I was sure CW was a bluey grey that my friend has in her hall but stand corrected .

I have little Greene French grey on my cupboards and it's lovely - a warm grey with a hint of green/mushroom maybe? Totally depends what you put next to it. If the accent colour is orange it looks taupey, if accented with blue or pink it looks more true grey. Interestingly French grey mid which is a shade lighter looks slightly more blue.

Cornforth white very similar shade to LG French grey (note not f&b this is v different), possibly slightly lighter and very slightly more beige. Not a true grey. A true grey is pavilion grey (quite cold IMO)

It's really interesting how the colours change depending on what colours it is next to, and what light. The hours I have spent deliberating...

Spotty26 has a fab blog called colporter and he has cornforth white in her hall. She has LG French grey in different strengths In her bathroom but in my kitchen it looks much less taupey than in her pics.

moondog I have a pale oak worktop and really pale ivory tiles. To be fair, my DH shoved things in front of my nose when I had hyperemesis and managed to combine something that looked nice

Moondog I have a white silestone quartz worktop (well itscheaper version called lunastone but is same) and it looks great. You def need bar keepers friend to keep clean but 4 months in all stains have come out.

My cabinets are Cornforth White, with oak worktops. I first painted the cabinets with Blackened and that was too cool/bluey with the oak. What type of worktops/flooring are you planning?

We are having black granite worktop, as well as a bit of an oak one. Pine floors and White walls.

Stave, I thoguht silestone type tops kept clean themselves?
I had slate worktops once.
Looked lovely but a nightmare to keep nice.
I was going to have stainless stell for this new kitchen but would have cost £££££.

What about flooring?
I want something that doesn't look wooden (have loads of wooden floors) or terracottaish.
I am thinking of somethnig which is definitey not pretending to be rustic.

It's really good actually - it''s not a mega expensive one either. I'm not a granite fan. Has survived hot pans , toddler pens and banging cutlery etc.

No it's metal - but I saw a beautiful ceramic one in homebase last week. A totally flat one.

The French Grey I have is little Greene not Darrow and ball- better paint for cupbaoatss IMO as its oil based. Google traditional painter, and hes posted on here too.

Moondog The quartz is amazing. Heatproof scratchporro etc. nothing has stained it so far, but because it's white it shows the stains tea/wine etc but it all comes out with barkeepers friend or the lakeland astonish paste. It's amazing, it really reflects light around the room. This reply about quartz for pannacotta too, as she asked about it!

If you're going to get quartz don't get silestone or caesar stone, they are upper expensive mainly because they spend so much on marketing. I've gor lunastone and it was over half the price, and is exactly the same.
