Grey kitchen cupboards? Help please!

Have to make a decision in the (fading) light. I would really like light grey cabinets and am differing between Cornforth White F&B, Fired Earth Pearl Ashes, and Fired earth Crom Fog.

It's for a south facing small kitchen in an extension to a Victorian terrace. And I don't want anything too blue.

Does anyone have any experience of how there paints will look. We're not in the house and there is no lighting at the moment, so I'm having to do this blind.

I have been to the Little Greene shop, and I think that I''ll go for mid Gauze, the French grey looks too warm in our kitchen, nearly beige-y. I am hoping that if we have blue elsewhere in the kitchen gauze will look like a cool grey.

Bur now I need to decide on a strong colour for some other cupboards.

James from Little Green or Wedgewood from Zoffany are front runners

Went to hose today, I think that French Gray may be a winner. It really is lovely

It is. Beware that it does have a slight beige/green to it but IMO makes it warmer. Orange accent colour or pop doesn't work - needs red/blue/ pink or poss yellow.
Oak floor may make it look beiger too so hold it up next to that
A tip I learnt from here is to paint big bit of lining paper and hold it up different places around room rather than painting on to walls

We are currently thinking of French gray down one wall and painters gray from F and b in another part of the kitchen. It is quite blue so hoping the FG won't look too beige!

Yeh sounds good. Painters grey- will look that up haven't seen it

You could have a few splashes of dark pink around too- just the odd thing like a teatowel or vase or something

Hi there,
I'm joining this thread a bit late. I am about to get a new kitchen and am desperate to get a matt light grey one so have been googling grey kitchen units but drawing a blank (that's how I stumbled across this thread). I didn't even know you could get units in whatever paint colour you choose. How does it work? I'm guessing not painting with a brush, is this spraying the units? Please would you let me know who provides this service (in London). Many thanks, Jess

Ladies, I'm hoping to do our kitchen grey - would anyone mind sending me pics of your kitchens for me to drool over??

At the moment, f&b cornforth white is winning, though LG French grey is also a possibility. Going to pick up some tester pots tomorrow !

Annie Sloan paints are nice colours - you don't say what surface you are painting on but they go on anything even melamine, I'm going to use them on my varnished pine cupboards - need no sanding or anything Smile I got their main tel no from the website and asked for a swatch - is all handpainted ie real colours x

Oh yes, forgot about Annie Sloan...

We're revamping an existing kitchen. DH is a carpenter, and will make new doors from mdf.

We have just had a new kitchen fitted which has been painted in Little Greene French Grey. Looks lovely. Worktops not in yet (will be white quartz with a pale grey veining - look similar to carrarra marble) and I am now obsessing about wall colours. Anyone have any thoughts/advice please?

Fired Earth Pearl Ashes - is stunning and pair it with F&B ponting for light/warmth.

And just to confuse you, little green's Pearl is amazing!

I almost chose LG pearl for the units, it is a lovely colour.

Jess if you have wooden units already you can sand then and reprint. Or do you mean where do you get painted units in general? I just designed our kitchen with a company called unfitted and they will paint the units any little Greene or F&B colour. And for a fully bespoke kitchen it was v reasonable. We have corn forth white with Oak worktops.
