It's got twigs, an oversized clock, a deep and meaningful huge plank sign, smeg fridge, bunting, LOVE letters, a hanging twig heart. Aaaagh, I bet the owners think they're really unusual and quirky cliche

Grin at meryl - hopefully not, I hate them too!

MadSleighLady · 20/12/2012 16:07

I have a deep hatred of those letters. EAT, BATHE, LOVE, SLEEP...

A shop near us sells wooden gold letters individually. DP had the excellent idea of buying some to go in the bathroom.

They say: "SHIT".

TalkinPeace2 · 20/12/2012 17:10

On the Housepricecrash forum (from which I am inexplicably blocked) there is a thread entitled "most overpriced shithole".
Mumsnet is mild by comparison.

I saw a friends house on one of these threads. Didn't tell her, but somebody else pointed out that Rightmove pictures can be taken out of context.
Sellers have the choice whether to sell their house or their home.

If they post their personal decor choices online, there are many, many places where it will be dissected.

My problem with the house in the OP is the flooding risk.

housepricecrash
I cannot see it but you might be able to see what is on there at the moment :-)

VicarInaTutuDrankSantasSherry · 20/12/2012 17:14

i like it. and its worth about 5 times what mine is. i would not say no!

FrumpyPumpy · 20/12/2012 17:41

Oooh we used to have 'bog' in the loo.

MadSleighLady · 20/12/2012 17:55

Hm "bog" is a much better idea. We tend to put the "shit" away for landlord inspections, parental visits etc...

CuddyMum · 20/12/2012 18:52

All is forgiven Kitsmummy - you have a pug (mix)!

SrirachaGirl · 20/12/2012 18:54

I'm drooling over the kitchen floor tiles!

happygilmore · 20/12/2012 19:53

Are Smeg fridges considered naff these days? I love them. I think the house is gorgeous, some of the decor is quite ubiquitous but then I'm not posh so wouldn't bother me. The house is lovely and big though.

kitsmummy · 20/12/2012 19:58

Thanks Cuddymum, she's a pug x french bulldog, lovely Smile

OP posts:
CuddyMum · 20/12/2012 20:29

Ah, we have a black pug! Hoping to get another dog next year. Would love another pug but we've been looking at Frenchies too.

GrendelsMum · 20/12/2012 20:35

Our local John Lewis was selling wooden letters last year. I had a lot of fun casually re-arranging them every time I took a short cut from my office to the sandwich shop.

GrendelsMum · 20/12/2012 20:37

Actually, if we sell our house, I think I'll get some wooden letters and put ridiculous words around the house. VOLE in the sitting room, maybe, and SHREW in the dining room.

Shattereddreams · 20/12/2012 20:58

SWAGGING

Lovely house nonetheless.

FBworry · 20/12/2012 21:35

The only thing wrong is this house needs more shabby chic.

Flossiechops · 20/12/2012 21:44

Shit I've got a smeg fridge, bunting and a few hearts around the place. Damn I always thought I was quirky, gutted absolutely gutted.

CuddyMum · 20/12/2012 22:14

Now I actually think this house is quite sweet but it reminds me of a Playmobil Palace :)

poorbuthappy · 20/12/2012 22:24

Oh my giddy aunt...CuddyMum my eyes are bleeding.

Shattereddreams · 20/12/2012 22:48

Can see it now
"There was unprecedented interest in your property on right move over the weekend, Mrs likes a lot of cloth" said the Estate Agent.

Devora · 20/12/2012 23:30

Wow CuddyMum, that is amazing! Versailles comes to Wollaston. Can you believe anyone has ever slept in that bed?

Love the way there is a briefcase strategically positioned on the radiator. Just to add a little masculine no-nonsense to the frilliest girliest room in the world. Ever.

Shattereddreams, that house would be lovely sans swag, wouldn't it? I always wonder about swags in the kitchen - wouldn't they get all greasy and full of dead flies?

DoesntTurkeyNSproutSoupDragOn · 21/12/2012 07:53

Wonderful! I looked at the photos of the Playmobile Palace and thought Now there's a house that has no children in it... and then came the picture of the nursery! Which I love for the incongruous Hello Kitty electric guitar :o

DoesntTurkeyNSproutSoupDragOn · 21/12/2012 07:54

My house was covered in swags when we viewed it. Swags and fancy light fittings everywhere and the most hideous fireplace in the world in the dining room. We were able to see past that :)

ChristmasIsAcumenin · 21/12/2012 11:08

We have decorative letters! GRUE and ALAS adorn our lovely home. One Helvetica and one Goudy OldStyle.

I like them, but then I am a typography geek anyway.

OneLittleToddlingTerror · 21/12/2012 11:27

That playmobil palace is really something. Wouldn't mind it either. I would love to have a huge 5-bed like that!
