A fiver to the person who spots the cat!!

BRANdishingMistletoe · 07/12/2012 20:39

I usually quite like 70's houses (not a popular opinion, I know) but that one is a bit too brutalist for my tastes. Why is there a free-standing pillar in the sitting room? All the ceilings are much too low too.

I didn't know Stanmore was that expensive, despite having lived in London for two decades I couldn't even be sure where in London it is tbh.

whiteandyelloworchid · 07/12/2012 20:49

i think it has potential

new windows and doors perhaps modern dark grey doors, white render the whole building, landscape the gardens.

completey renovate inside, get rid of all that cladding on the celingsmaking it look like a sauna!

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 07/12/2012 21:09

is the cat to the left of the tv and does it look like a small sheep with tiny legs?

BRANdishingMistletoe · 07/12/2012 21:11

I thought that Santa, but when I looked really closely I reckoned it really was a toy sheep. I couldn't see a cat anywhere else though. Grin

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 07/12/2012 21:14

it does look like a blow up sheep doesn't it? Grin

the only other placei think it could be is in the 1st pic there is a part of the low grey brick wall that looks blurred. i'm thinking tabby cat blending in?

AmazingBouncingBabyJesus · 07/12/2012 21:15

It looks like a converted fire station.

Devora · 07/12/2012 21:16

This is pretty hideous: www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-property/property-39974186.html

www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-property/property-39976592.html This house has got the most stunning views ever - beautiful on the outside. But on the inside: holey moley, take a butchers at that kitchen.

This www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-property/property-40031882.html for more of the same. Crikey, they like their wood, don't they?

HassledHasASledge · 07/12/2012 21:17

What were architects thinking in the 1970s? How did they sleep at night?

BRANdishingMistletoe · 07/12/2012 21:18

Actually, to the left of the sheep there is an armchair, and it looks as though there is a cat's tail lying along the seat and the cat's body is obscured by some twiggy stuff in front of the chair. Do I win the fiver?

AmazingBouncingBabyJesus · 07/12/2012 21:21

An armchair in what looks like a conservatory has what could be a black cat curled up on it.

redrubyshoes · 07/12/2012 21:22

I thought it was a cat in picture 7 in the tub chair on the left..............

Devora · 07/12/2012 21:22

This is advertised as 'ready to move in'. Hmmm, maybe. How many different angle shots can you get of one small window? www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-property/property-36635345.html

43 shots of this beauty! www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-property/property-34652174.html Just because you CAN photograph everything, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Like the way they've kept all the TVs on so we can watch the footie.

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 07/12/2012 21:23

ok.

the picture after the sheep one. there is a chair in the furthest corner. i have zoomed 400% and i think it resembles a dark cat shape?

AmazingBouncingBabyJesus · 07/12/2012 21:23

Bit of a droopy cat if it is. Grin

BRANdishingMistletoe · 07/12/2012 21:24

I'm sorry Devora, those just aren't ugly enough, they have redeeming features and could be saved with a bit of effort. I actually quite like the Parisian one, although I would change the decor (if I could afford to spend that much to buy it, I could certainly afford to remodel).

I would definitely have trouble in the kitchen of your second link though, I have one very short-sighted eye and sometimes have difficulty with depth of field. That kitchen basically has no discernable edges, I would be forever stubbing my toe because I couldn't tell where the floor ended and the cabinets began.Grin

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 07/12/2012 21:24

and yes that is a blow up sheep. why would you leave a blow up sheep in teh living room when you are having photos taken for sale?

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 07/12/2012 21:26

yeah the one in pic 7 looks like a really chilled cat! Grin

BRANdishingMistletoe · 07/12/2012 21:27

Those Portugese houses are indeed ugly, sorry I doubted you Devora. Grin

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 07/12/2012 21:29

that portuguese one looks like a prison cell!

whiteandyelloworchid · 07/12/2012 21:39

lol this is turning into a game of wheres wally!!

thenightsky · 07/12/2012 21:42

Oh I so want.... nobody does castles like the Spanish

whiteandyelloworchid · 07/12/2012 21:45

devora, i'd liek to see where you live if you think the ski chalet type ones are hideous, i really like those

BehindLockNumberNine · 07/12/2012 21:45

thenightsky - I loved your castle until I got to picture 10. I think I have been watching too much DrWho but the angles gave me a little jolt. And one of them is pointing at something or someone...

BehindLockNumberNine · 07/12/2012 21:45

angles? fuck, I mean angels!!
