Neptune or Kit Stone Kitchen?

I'm researching new kitchens. In my fantasy world I would have a Plain English but the reality is probably more of these types.
I think they're owned by the same people?
I saw a Neptune one in a local show room & it was gorgeous.
Does anyone have an first hand experience?

I looked at them but ended up going with Higham furniture. I now have a beautiful kitchen. Very pleased. And unlike Neptune they are fully bespoke so can make anything. Higham also worked out cheaper than Neptune for a higher spec kitchen.

Also look at Devol Kitchens. Lovely. And cheaper than higham or Neptune but not fully bespoke so like Neptune you have to choose from a range of cabinets. But about half price of Neptune for similar spec product.

Devol are cheapest but great quality. A good friend has a lovely kitchen by them.

I chose higham given I could get everything completely bespoke and I now have a kitchen which has some of the Plain English incorporates but with a few extra twists which makes it even more special.
I originally wanted Plain English as well but PE quoted £65k! And it wasn't a very good layout design and they didn't exactly break their necks to be helpful in any way. I was disappointed with that.
Higham were great and bent over backwards to accommodate every wish and happily drew up and costed lots of variations on my ideas which was helpful. And kitchen cost a third of PE.

I have a yen for pale bluey/grey with whiteish tops. Not sure if it might date though.

Don't know about their kitchens but a large furniture store, local to us, has stopped selling neptune furniture due to excessive lead times and unhelpfulness in the event of things not being perfect.

Daft question - if it's handle-less, how do you open things?

It's charleston grey in F&B. worktops are honed Carrara marble.

The handle is invisibly integrated into the door. It's a rebate groove in one of the shaker panels which forms a handle. It's stunning and works so well. No handles to bash against and it gives a really stream lined look. Very classic and contemporary at the same time.

I have a plain English copy that I had a local cabinet maker knock up, it is extremely gorgeous and under ten grand for a massive island and other kitchen units, I got Neptune in my utility a couple of months ago because I'd worked in a furniture shop who stocked them and I got discount. They are very well made but from the stockists point of view they were a nightmare to work with. They had a ridiculous stock hold system they were a nightmare at arranging deliveries and several times we swapped out base units from our shop display to tide customers over so they could get their kitchen installed, they used to sell wortops but stopped be ause it was too much work for them, they sold identical kitchens via Costco at cheaper than we were able to buy them to sell. Saying all that I liked the product and all their paints were from the little green paint company who don't sell the same colours direct, but you can buy them from Neptune ( at a ridiculous delivery charge unless tied in with other items) don't know anything about kit stone

Thanks for the info Clue. I originally liked Neptune because I was swayed by the swanky kitchen in the showroom & flattered by the patter of the seller! I have a feeling Neptune & Kit Stone are made by the same people. I think Kit Stone you do your own plans, which scares me.

Marble is fine. Just seal it well. Dry Treat is what you want. Granite is tougher but I couldn't quite find what I want. Granite is busy unless its black. And you can't beat a bit of bianco Carrara really. But if you want tough go for granite.

If you are after pale stone there are a few pale granites. Ivory spice (don't get palmed off with ivory fantasy!) and River White. Both are lovely. And about half the price of marble.
If you get them honed rather than polished then they will look even whiter and less busy. And you avoid finger prints and dust showing up .

I agree about finding a white granite, so many have brown tinges to them. I am considering Quartz.

We've just put in a bluey grey shaker styley kitchen with a pale grey quartz - looks fantastic. Local supplier though so can't answer on the Neptune/Kit Stone comparison!

We had a stunning suffolk kit stone kitchen fitted which we get complimented on all the time - everyone says how beautiful it is and asks where it's from! we love it..great all round service from Kit stone including their fitter...thank you very much Kit stone!

Kit Stone Suffolk is a Neptune Suffolk kitchen - they are the same.

I have a kit stone kitchen, it was cheaper than devol (I had alot of larder units). To be honest, I would have gone with whoever had the best price. I've had it 2 years, no delays, no warping, very happy.
