Chair is a carver that we go in a junk shop with another carver and 2 ordinary dining chairs. THe dining chairs fell apart but we still have the carvers.

Oh my lordy lord! I dream of finding that sort of thing under a carpet. Bloody hell - am so jealous.

I suspect "thin" was not a good description for me to have used re the chair. On one of the pics it is in the hallway (next to the stairs) and looks "shallow" in a good way - as in, it doesn't seem to stick out much.

i pulled up ours and uncovered some lovely red & black tiles, they only went 3/4 of the way up the hall though and some bloody idiot had put cement on top of them
