£500k doesn't get you much round here.

I thought this one - 5 bed semi looked like quite a bargain, until I recognised it: it backs right on to the railway line, can only have a postage-stamp sized paved area at the back (no actual garden), and is right next to an electricity sub-station, which seems to hum as you walk past. Oh, and the lack of interior photos is not a good sign.

But no doubt someone will snap it up as this is a studenty area, and you could cram a lot of students into 5 bedrooms and two out of the three reception rooms.

A bit further down the hill, though, into a more edgy/urban area, £500k would get you this 5-bed house which looks not bad at all.

Just a small idea
2 bed
3 bed
4 bed
8 bed

ThistleWhistle · 19/02/2012 23:12

For 525 you could have this. I am especially liking the animal hide on the wall and the opportunity to purchase the retro bar furniture. I couldn't cope with the stairs though. Stairs with no backs just freak me out, even if the rest of the stair is swirly carpeted.

Deafworm · 20/02/2012 07:11

£500K would buy quite a lot. This looks rather appealing:

HallelujahHeisBorntoMary · 20/02/2012 09:28

True, LaVitaBellissima, but if you didn't have toddlers...

BendyBob · 20/02/2012 09:45

Another windmill one - but no sails this time :(

DamselInDisarray · 20/02/2012 13:40

I love the fact that you get 2 bedrooms in the main house, 3 in the sail-less windmill, and another 2 in the annexe. Who wants to share a building with their children?

vogonmothership · 20/02/2012 14:24

I love these threads, it's going to take me at least until Wednesday to vouyeur my way through all the links Grin
