Feeling intimidated by styled house

Just browsing rightmove & came across this one which just makes me feel inadequate. A shot devoted to the sink? I know if we moved there it would look nothing like that in a week. (no vested interest)

The price will be right and unlikely anything wrong with house (reiterates no personal interest). I could make you Envy with more. Do you all want to move to the sticks now ?

it doesn't look like a family home.
agree, next show-home.

god, i can't believe how much more home you get oop north.
You suck South East.

FootprintsInTheSnow · 06/02/2012 13:24

Nope - sorry - I'm on love. I want that house. Especially the crazy sink and the Wendy house. Well presented, well proportioned, near good schools.

I'm selling up, packing the cat and moving up North. Anyone fancy buying a London terrace to help me raise funds? Boasting a B&Q sink, and a plastic play kitchen in the garden.

MackerelOfFact · 06/02/2012 13:27

That's hideous. I guess it's owned by a second-division footballer?!

GrendelsMum · 06/02/2012 13:49

Oh, come on - they've just cleaned and tidied and bought a few matching items, that's all. They're probably Mumsnetters intimidated by our reviews of previous houses Grin

headfairy · 06/02/2012 13:53

that's just about the ugliest house I've ever seen, inside and outside.

Haziedoll · 06/02/2012 13:54

Mumsnetters may be fond of books and clutter but estate agents always tell you to get rid of any personal items and make it as bland as possible.

cestlavielife · 06/02/2012 13:59

ChickensGoMeh · 06/02/2012 14:01

The sink...is there no dishwasher? And if I had that sink, I'd end up getting in to water fights with myself constantly. I dislike the decor, but the space would be lovely.

I have to say it looks like a garage with a house tacked on to the back.

Hideous.

PattiMayor · 06/02/2012 14:08

Chickens - if that sink was in our house, the floor would be awash 90% of the time. I'd have to turn the tap off at the mains every time I left the room :o

ivykaty44 · 06/02/2012 14:10

why hasn't the dart board got any numbers on it?

seeker · 06/02/2012 14:14

We had a stylednhousqe once. Pictures on profile if you like. It was complete heaven- for about 3 weeks. Now it looks awful- every surface covers with stuff, and animal hair.somehow it's worse because of having the pictures......

noddyholder · 06/02/2012 14:15

A bargain but hideous!

jasminerice · 06/02/2012 14:15

Horrible. Looks cold and unhomely. Hate the sink, kitchen, living area, all of it.

DamonSalvatoreIsMyLoveSlave · 06/02/2012 14:16

It just looks nice because it matches and is clean and modern and there is no, er "stuff" literally anywhere.

They must have a secret Monica (from Friends) cupboard somewhere that, if opened, would spill out an avalanche of junk on your head.

sallymonella · 06/02/2012 14:16

It looks soul-less to me. Estate agents may well tell you to hide away all your personal possessions, but personally I like to get an idea of what a house looks like when it's actually lived in.

I hate the kitchen sink too and cannot believe anyone would have paid the reduced price for it, let alone the full price!

garden's crap though.

Charlotteperkins · 06/02/2012 14:19

did you notice the roof from the back- obviously an extension.

I feel sorry for the DCs who live there- must have a life of being shouted at DONT TOUCH!

openerofjars · 06/02/2012 14:26

But... but... but...

Where are all their books? Where are the horrible, blobby, inept children's paintings and dreadful things made out of toilet roll inners at school? Where do they keep all those piles of random crap that congregate on very flat surface in my house?

How can anyone live with all that space ? And cleanliness ? How do they cope with being able to see so much floor?

Callisto · 06/02/2012 14:34

It is awful, completely soulless and cold looking. Like whoever owns it is just pretending that they live there. I also think it is pretty ugly on the outside. I would hate to live there.
