Landlords - info on eviction costs?

Has anyone has to evict a tenant for non-payment of rent? Grateful for any advice as to how long it took, costs, hassle, effectiveness etc.

Looking at circumstances where we don't have insurance to pick up the costs.

Never had to do it yet but may have to one day so bumping for you as I would be interested to know too. (http://www.landlordaction.co.uk/index.php Landlord Action offer a service that they claim often means the tenant pays up or leaves quickly - I don't think they threaten to break limbs .)
