I can't have a credit account with them (Bankrupt!) but i seem to be able to order on my credit card. With my card being PAYG it wouldn't have money there for them to take off in months time. I only put money on when needed! Wonder what they would do then.

bigchris · 07/11/2009 21:23

they would be mugs to rip off a load of mumsnetters really they would
because we do buy toys from their sites, and fashion
if there is a mass ripping off there are lots of people on here involved and we do get in the press

Disenchanted3 · 07/11/2009 21:23

If you paid by debit card you did NOT set up a credit account, you just paid there and then.

When you set up a debit account it takes extra time to answer questions about income etc ... which I did non of today.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/11/2009 21:24

I really don't think I have set up a credit account - i got this email

When you go to register with them the box where you put your detaila clearly says account registration.

It's like next directory or any other catalogue but you have an option to pay there and then. Just because you don't store your card details it doesn't mean you haven't agreed to open an account with them.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/11/2009 21:25

When I looked at the Marshall Ward one it was asking questions re credit so I didn't go any further.

bellavita · 07/11/2009 21:25

Non of my e-mails said I had a credit agreement.

I didn't answer anything about incomes, I was just told I had a credit account.

NewPinkPup · 07/11/2009 21:26

I paid by debit card for 2 orders (1 mine, 1dh), and used dh's & mine existing littlewoods credit accounts for 2 other orders.

I've only ordered some of what we had decided to get the ds's for christmas & not gone silly.

I've had order confirmation e-mails for everytng I've ordered. If in the future they try get money back, ah well, it was worth a try, I was going to buy these anyway! It'll be like 'buy now pay later' I guess!!

I've used codes not sent to me before (last xmas & earlier this year) & they've not come for me yet!!

IdrisTheDragon · 07/11/2009 21:26

I don't have an account number either (although may be in denial about having an account or not )

bellavita · 07/11/2009 21:27

Idris, I got the same e-mail as you.

GhoulsAreLoud · 07/11/2009 21:28

Just be careful and don't buy anything you can't afford to pay full price for.

I can't actually believe the vulture attitude of some people on here, going round all the different sites.

No such thing as a free lunch.

I hope none of you get stung, I really don't.

Whatever shiny. They'll be even more desperate if they get billed £100 straight after xmas.

bellavita · 07/11/2009 21:32

I hardly think I can be called a vulture for buying two things...

They will take it back whether you have a credit agreement or not:

"If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account."

These are the terms you've all agreed to.

Lilyloo · 07/11/2009 21:36

I recently opened an account with additions to get something. They didn't have my size as it turned out. Didn't proceed (was paying on card) have got an account break down and payment slip through the post with credit limit.
I think many of these catalogue companys will open an account tbh

As i say i used this once last year and was fine!

Goober · 07/11/2009 21:36

Thankyou. Have just bought DD a £60 coat for £35!

Yay!!

Lilyloo · 07/11/2009 21:37

didn't open an account , tried to purchase something...

Divatheshopaholic · 07/11/2009 21:52
