I want to use the code but worried about getting charged in a few months. I can probably get them cheaper else where otherwise.

LilyLoovesGuyFawkes · 07/11/2009 20:30

I have had confirmation , used it last year Tort to get dd birthday present.
It was fine , still not sure if i dare use it more than once though!

stinkypinky · 07/11/2009 20:31

Just bought peppa pig stuff. Cheers NewPinkPup. Not sure they could bill us legally in the future.

bellavita · 07/11/2009 20:35

I have used the code at two of the places. It would not let me use it again at the same place.

However, I can say though that earlier on in the year, I had a code and used it to buy a scooter at Littlewoods. It did work and they took the full amount of money and recredited on the same day. There was not a problem.

GunpowderTortoiseAndPlot · 07/11/2009 20:46

Anyone know how long it is valid for? My credit card is pay as you go so i need to put money on it 1st!

Lilyloo · 07/11/2009 20:50

Sorry don't know am hoping for a bit as i am going to wait to get this order (or at least refund) before i try and use it again!

carriedababi · 07/11/2009 20:53

problem is there stuff is so much dearer than the shops, im not sure its worth the risk.

just copied this from very website

2.3 Promotional codes are codes that enable customers to obtain benefits such as discounts, free delivery and free gifts. These codes are non-transferable so may only be used by the person to whom they are issued and must only be used in accordance with their terms and conditions of use. If you use a promotional code to claim a promotional benefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you are eligible to use it. By using it to claim a promotional benefit you will be confirming that:-

(i) you are entitled to use the code;
(ii) you meet all the conditions that apply to its use;
(iii) you agree to the terms set out below.

If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled to use the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reject your order or alternatively process it without the promotional benefit being applied. If, after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.

it sounds a bit risky to me

Divatheshopaholic · 07/11/2009 21:05

if they charge full price and not honour the discount code, then i will just send them all back.

GunpowderTortoiseAndPlot · 07/11/2009 21:06

but they won't accept returns in 2 months time.

I still don't know what to do.

bellavita · 07/11/2009 21:08

Well, this is the way I look at it...

should they not honour the code and you are therefore charged full price and you cannot afford full price, then don't risk it at all.

Disenchanted3 · 07/11/2009 21:10

I think what needs to happen is someone contact them and ask what the time frame is for them to check 'eligability'

that way if the order goes through WITH discount then after 28 days without question the items are yours at that price.

It says that '', after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.''

But how long do they legally ahve to do this?

They couldn't decide after 4 years that suddenly they can charge you full price.

So what is the cut off point.

Surely it should be something like 28 days, so if after 28 days you have no had notice of being charged the full price then the item are free to be opened without the possibility of full payment being owed??

I joined today and was told I had indeed set up a credit account with a limit of £1000.

GhoulsAreLoud · 07/11/2009 21:15

"We are delighted to tell you that your application for an account from Littlewoods has been successful. To help you start shopping right away we have given you an initial credit limit of £1000.

Your new Customer Account Number is xxx"

gigglewitch · 07/11/2009 21:17

many thanks, NPP

bellavita · 07/11/2009 21:18

I did not set up any credit agreements. I just paid by debit card there and then.

me too, bella

Disenchanted3 · 07/11/2009 21:20

I don't see how when you have £2.00 on your screen and they are asking you for £2 they can take £27 without even asking!

IdrisTheDragon · 07/11/2009 21:21

I paid by debit card as well.

GhoulsAreLoud · 07/11/2009 21:21

I paid by debit card there and then as well. But I had to register to do that, and when I registered, that is the email I received.

If you joined today you've set up a credit agreement with them.

Just be careful, is all I'm saying, and don't order anything that you can't afford to pay full price for.

They have taken money retrospectively from people in the past, have no idea if they will do it again, but they definitely have before.

TBH, I'll be surprised if I can get a jewellery box for the price of a packet of crayons, but it's what my Mum wants for xmas and it'll save me a schlepp round the shops and I can afford to take the risk.

It asked me if I wanted to store my card details for next time and I said no.

GhoulsAreLoud · 07/11/2009 21:22

Did you register with them today? Check your registration email.

bellavita · 07/11/2009 21:22

Ghouls - that is like I said earlier, if there is any doubt in your mind and you cannot afford full price, then don't do it.
