hardly owt left {sad] spent 51.oo on dd, all for next year.

Astrophe · 03/07/2009 11:59

I has taken me nearly FOUR HOURS to place the order!!!!!! The shopping bag kept reverting to zero, so after an hour or so of that had to call them, then my phone card ran out (calling from Australia), so had to top up card, then had to call again and beg them to ring me back as the 0845 number was going to cost me $50...finally placed the order over the phone...far out, the clothes better be good.

I did get lots ('cause summer starts in a few months for us - perfect timing)

2 shorts for DS, 1 top for DS, 3 dresses, 2 tops, kaftan and nighties for DD, 3 outfits for new baby soon to arrive, cardi for DD, tops as gifts for 4 other kids and neice. Oh bugger - just realised I forgot some other shorts I wanted for DS...

I am very anxious about the 2 kaftans I ordered for me - merion one and ibiza one...anyone else already have them? If they don't fit I am stuffed - its hardly worth the money to post them back from Aus as postage costs a fortune. Hmmmm...maybe I have been very stupid in ordering them. Oh dear, amd fretting now...DH will be scathing...

pamelat · 03/07/2009 12:46

spent £289 [BLUSH] but planning on returning half or so, ordered 2 sizes of most things. Loved the green petal skirt and top.

Not a lot for children, my DD is 18 months. Just got her a dress.

Did not have time to look at mens as was worried it would all disappear from my basket.

LynetteScavo · 03/07/2009 12:48

Call that a sale?

I'm not impressed, and for the first time in years have bought nothing.

ihavenosecrets · 03/07/2009 14:38

Thanks wherethewildthingsare. I wish I had seen your post earlier as I went for the small size in the end! It is the long sleeved hoop top.

I bought top for me, beach bag (union jack one) and some wellies for ds. I did originally have a huge basket with loads for ds but then I deleted it all because I can't afford it and I thought it was overpriced. I really wanted to buy ds a zip up sweater as he has been wearing one for the last 3 years and it has washed brilliantly but they didn't have any. Will have to pay full price when the autumn range comes out. Boden is not really within my budget but ds has had such good wear out of the sweater that I bought him that I think I can justify paying full price if it lasts him another 3 years.

PartOfTheHumphreysGroup · 03/07/2009 14:43

I'm really cross - i bought myself some clothes from there a few months ago when i first discovered the site and now they're all bloody cheaper and available in my sizes! I must have picked all the really unpopular stuff!

Astrophe I have the ibiza kaftan, it's quite a big fit i'd say, I have big (bfeeding) boobs and am size 16/18 but the size 16 fits me

Astrophe · 03/07/2009 14:56

partofhumphrey - I think I must like unpopular stuff too! There were a few things sold out by the time I finally made the order (made it over the phone...and I think it was much quicker in the end...I recomend it), but I still found lots of good stuff.

I hope I got the right size for the kaftan - I am preggers now, so couldn't really measure accurately. I am usually a 14, but the odd thing I have from Boden is 16...bought a size 16 in the kaftans, so hopefully they wont be too big, at least whilst I am losing baby weight over the next 6 months. Am still worried - kaftan sixing really has to be right doesn't it - too small=clings to fat and too tight on the bum...too big=wearing shapeless sack....ohhh, I await delivery nervously (not that I will be able to try them on for another 3 weeks at least with this huge bump I have!

Ihavenosecrets - I know what you mean about the cost. I always baulk at it, but then remember that all the mini boden I have ever bought has been great quality except for one pair of shorts for DD which were thin fabric...everything else has been so good, and still looks great by the time DCs grow out of it, so I can save it for younger siblings or pass it on to friends...so much nicer than cheap tatty clothes that need throwing out by the end of the season, and better for the planet as well to get a few good year swear from things.

expo · 03/07/2009 15:16

I agree Astrophe - I prefer to get a few Boden things for my DS and DD which wash and wash and wash rather than a load of cheaper stuff which rags up quickly. I also hope that it means that no one has been exploited making it as well.....

I love the kids stuff as well - for girls it is so pretty with all the prints etc and for boys it is so much better than the boring stuff I find in the shops.

beanybean · 03/07/2009 19:00

They have a good kids sale on the Asos site, including lots of Boden. Definitely worth a look!

blueshoes · 04/07/2009 14:59

Good tip, beanybean. I have had a look at the asos site. They have a limited collection but carry lots of sizes/styles that are already sold out on the Boden site. For the few items I checked, the price is similar to sale price on Boden or maybe more by a quid or two.

Definitely worth visiting.

Beany, do you know whether the asos site times its Boden kids sale for at the same time as the Boden one starts?

beanybean · 05/07/2009 19:02

Asos have only recently just started selling kids clothes so not sure. But they did have a sale on a few weeks ago too so I don't think they are timing it with Boden. You can often get free delivery too.

blueshoes · 06/07/2009 06:42

Thanks beany, that's good to know. It is disheartening to watch the sizes run out on the Boden site ahead of the sale. So asos is a good alternative.

maxybrown · 06/07/2009 18:50

asos...I have never heard of it! I have managed to find the T shirt for DS in bigger size that i wanted, even worth paying the delivery for thanks

spicemonster · 08/07/2009 15:15

My stuff has arrived. Curses I like it all

maxybrown · 08/07/2009 17:38

lol oh dear. I didn't order one single thing!! Bought before sale so decided to be good and order winter stuff instead.

twolittledarlings · 10/07/2009 23:41

Bought loads of Boden dresses for my girls from the asos website upto age 6. Still lots in stock compared to the Boden website. Have done 2 orders and both times used 'LITTLETREATS' to get free delivery.

Thanks beanybean

wools · 11/07/2009 08:33

Thanks for that code twolittledarlings - have just placed an order with asos. Some of the items are cheaper than boden.

theabear · 12/07/2009 19:05

Does anyone know if the boden sale prices are going to be reduced further? I have my eye on a couple of things, but not much of a reduction so far!!
