Not sure how it works could someone help me get a free box. I choose the meals but then it wanted my credit card details????

I ordered one off the back of one of yesterdays threads - 4 meals for 4 people - as its just me and DH next week that is a whole weeks worth of dinners. He's happy as when its just the two of us I cba to cook so it tends to be soupmaker soup, salad or beans on toast. I've used Hello Fresh in the past and have been meaning to try gusto although their choices look a bit stodgier than Hello Fresh but am keen to try them out and see how they compare.

@Greenfrog78 - it took my credit card details too as it is a subscription service but then when it came to the actual order for the first box it charged me nil. If you don't want the next box you have to go in and cancel though otherwise they'll send you one (and bill your card) with their default choice of meals.

They ask for your credit card details as they will take payment for the second box. However, if you only want the first free box, skip the delivery for the box the following week then cancel your membership as soon as your first delivery arrives.

I really rate Gousto, I have been using them for 10 months now since my baby was born. It just makes everything much easier and I have tried so many things that I would never normally have tried to make. Loving the ideas for different quick pickles and the reduction in food wastage. They have changed how they package things now so there is way less packaging which is great. We love it, our box arrived today and I'm trying to decide what to have for dinner :-)

I went for the large box as we are a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Ive never used a subscription box before but can confirm it did not charge any money to my account so it's a genuine offer
I will see what the quality is like before cancelling the ongoing payments. I know a friend of mine has used these before and seems happy

Seems like a good selection of food, although we have a fussy eater so I've played it safe with pasta and chicken type meals.

You have to add your payment to get the free box, same with hello fresh, which is why it's important to cancel as soon your free one arrives or you get charged for the following week.

Totally normal having to give a payment source but on the checkout screen it should say £0.00
