Everything a penny?

Hi, I’ve recently stumbled across a site called everything a penny, where everything is a penny, obviously. They just make you pay for shipping which usually equals what you’d expect to pay for the items but a bit cheaper, however they’re doing a Black Friday deal which means you only pay so much for so many items. For example, they have 5 items for £5 shipping. They sell lots of different things including phones, one of which I looked would normally be over £300 shipping but now I can get it in the £5 shipping deal, surely this is too good to be true right?

Has anyone used this site? It seemed believable before but now that deal seems beyond ridiculous

I really doubt its genuine. How could they possibly send these things for a penny?

Thestrangestthing · 10/12/2019 14:28

Sell, not send

HEADSHOT · 10/12/2019 14:42

It's a scam soon as I question them about anything they delete my comment and block me so I can't comment anymore i posted multiple times on items on there Facebook page asking if anyone received there items not one reply from anyone the site has beem set up for black friday and crimbo to scam everyone the site as only been created 8 weeks ago there's nothing to track your orders or anything they have no busness adress or contact phone number that is active its a postage scam were the postage is none refundable so when u don't get your items u claim a refund they refund u your 1p per item and keep your postage it's genuous scam and gets alot of people. If it feels like it's to good to be true then 9 times out of 10 it's a scam the items cannot be sent at that price just look at what you are buying for 1p seriously.

HEADSHOT · 10/12/2019 14:45

There Isn't one person that can show any proof of any items they have received just fake messages saying its legit to build your hopes up and to belive it's real so you go and place an order

Tina97 · 10/12/2019 15:15

@Rolosx we're all waiting for your response, or are you busy shipping our orders? Lol

CHELSEA281990 · 10/12/2019 16:06

Hi all I too have ordered but I used klarna. It's similar to pay Pal who have a buyer's protection. If you choose klarna you pay nothing for 30 days, if the items take longer to arrive you can contact them and they will extend your payment date. If no items are received you do not have to pay them! So worth a shot at getting a phone for 1p

HEADSHOT · 10/12/2019 16:11

@CHELSEA281990 even with klarna you still have to pay the shipping cost you just don't pay for the item u havnt got klarna pay for your items when u buy them and you pay if your satisfied with the item when it arrives they still want you to pay the shipping otherwise they loose out has they can't claim a non refundable shipping cost back.

HEADSHOT · 10/12/2019 16:26

Could be wrong I've just read there small print that's deffo the best way to go about the site thuw klarna if u want some sort of protection.

MamaOfThreex · 10/12/2019 17:45

Might be missing the point here but shouldn’t you be entitled to getting the money you’ve paid for shipping back if the item was never sent then?

Lisamaz1994 · 10/12/2019 18:22

If you paid by debit card you can ring the bank and they will fill im a dispute form and pay u your money back if you can tell them what u bought :) sorted! However if you receive your goods they will take the money back

HEADSHOT · 10/12/2019 18:22

It's states on there website that shipping is non refundable not sure how it works if it's a scam.

CHELSEA281990 · 10/12/2019 20:43

Under consumers rights regardless what is mentioned on the website if no parcel is received and they cannot prove it has been delivered shipping costs have to be refunded, it's the same as if you return a full order the delivery charge must be refunded. Certain shops request you to email them to 'end the contract's I was unaware of this until coming across a Martin Lewis post where he exposed large companies for breaching this and there websites stating delivery is non refundable.

CHELSEA281990 · 10/12/2019 20:49

@HEADSHOT Direct from klarna ..
If you don’t receive the goods you bought
If you don’t receive the goods you bought, we won’t ask you to pay.

If you choose to pay with Klarna’s Pay later, you don’t have to pay until the goods have been delivered. If the delivery of your goods is delayed, please do the following:

Double-check that you haven’t missed a delivery notice.
Contact Klarna’s customer service to have the payment due date postponed.
If you still haven’t received your goods when the new due date approaches, contact Klarna’s customer service. We won’t ask you to pay while we are looking into the matter. If our investigations show that the goods have not been delivered, we won’t ask you to pay – unless one of the exceptions applies (please see below).
What should you do if you already paid?

If you already paid (with card or via bank transfer or if you paid your Pay later invoice before the due date) for goods that you don’t receive, please do the following

Double-check that you haven’t missed a delivery notice
Contact the e-store to find out where the goods are
If the problem remains unsolved, contact Klarna’s customer service. We won’t ask you to pay while we’re looking into the matter. If your investigations show that the goods have not been delivered, we will refund your payment – unless one of the exceptions applies (please see below).
Exceptions

You must make it possible for the goods to be delivered to you in order to be entitled to a refund or to suspend your due date in situations where your goods have not been delivered. If you don’t pick up the goods after you’ve received a delivery notice, you are generally liable for the cost of returning the goods to the store.

Please also keep in mind that if you want to use your cancellation right, you have to inform the store. If you don’t give notice, the store can refuse to accept the goods. If you already paid for goods that you want to return, Klarna may withhold an amount corresponding to the return fee (or if the store refuses to accept the goods, the entire sum). Klarna may also request payment or withhold part of the sum you paid if your goods are seized by Customs.

If the goods are defective or not what you purchased
We won’t ask for payment if the goods are defective

If you choose to pay with Klarna’s Pay later, you don’t have to pay until the goods have been delivered. You can examine the goods at home and check that everything is in order before you pay. If the item you received is not something you ordered, is defective, damaged or incomplete at the time of delivery, or does not match the merchant’s description of the product at the time of purchase, please do the following:

Contact Klarna’s customer service so that we can suspend your payment due date
Contact the merchant to try and resolve the issue
If you haven’t reached an understanding with the merchant before the new due date, contact Klarna’s customer service. Please have your order information with you during the call, including the merchant name, date of purchase, order number, description of the disputed good, and date when you first contacted the seller about the dispute. We will only ask you to pay if we conclude, based on an extensive investigation, that your claims are invalid.
Please inform Klarna as soon as possible if you give notice of defective goods to the merchant so that we don’t send you an unfounded payment reminder. Please also note that this Policy does not apply if the goods you receive are accurately described by the merchant but do not meet your expectations.

Lisamaz1994 · 10/12/2019 20:52

Me and my 2 sisters got refunded our money from the bank as undelivered goods and seems like a scam. They said if the company can prove that the goods have been delivered (not just shipped) and that we received them we will have to return the money to them however even the bank said they are not expecting any response from everythingapenny as it seems dodgy. So people get ringing Klarna or your banks and get it sorted x

Rovemongoose123 · 10/12/2019 21:23

Let’s see how this goes

Everything a penny?
HEADSHOT · 10/12/2019 21:43

@lisamaz1994 she did u place your order how long did u wate to see if the items would come.

HEADSHOT · 10/12/2019 21:44

When* not she lol sorry

Elementalillusions · 10/12/2019 22:08

It’s definitely a huge scam.

I’ve read about this kind of scam before, where they can ‘legally’ refuse to refund postage if it’s in the T&Cs.
So they can charge you 1p for the item and £20 for postage and then when it doesn’t arrive they only have to refund the price you paid minus the postage and there’s little you can do.

Anyone whose ordered, especially if it’s most of your Christmas budget, contact your bank tomorrow and try to get the payment reversed.

summersabi · 10/12/2019 22:49

Ive been a bit wary also but theyve replied to my email i sent yesterday and today and have been told i need to wait until the date theyve given for the delivery to arrive. i also placed another order before which i asked to be cancelled and they refunded me within a few days. i know its only a fiver to loose if it doesn't work out but theyve replied to my queries and refunded one order. if it doesnt come i will ask to be refunded too.

Lisamaz1994 · 11/12/2019 03:49

I ordered my stuff 11th of november. I wasnt gonna wait for things that wont arrive

RosieBartley · 11/12/2019 06:50

I placed an order over the weekend from here. I chose to pay via Klarna which is a legit payment method whereby you don’t pay until you have received your items. So I’m pretty comfortable with that. For £5.09, what’s the harm?

WTCT · 11/12/2019 06:57

Surely the fact that you can’t pay by debit/credit card/PayPal is a massive indication this is all a scam?

Lisamaz1994 · 11/12/2019 07:00

When I ordered mine when the site was first open you could pay with credit ot debit card... Which I did x they then changed it a couple weeks later to bank transfer and klarna

Rovemongoose123 · 11/12/2019 08:34

That’s why I paid with PayPal. They completely. Hanged the payment aspect a few days later

Rovemongoose123 · 11/12/2019 10:30

Sorry that should have said changed
