Well, it's that time of the year again, and September's just around the corner. Get your kids ready for the new term with Kids’ School Shoes from £34 at Clarks.

Putting each pair through 60 punishing tests, Clarks take durability seriously. Have a browse through their full range of school shoe styles here.

Plus, until Thursday 22 August get free next day delivery on kids' school shoes by using the code SCHOOLSOUT.

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

I used to religiously buy Clark’s but I’ve fallen out of love with them. The scrap for a poorly trained (usually teenage with no idea about children or parenting in general, which makes shopping that tiny bit harder) fitter in August is daunting at best. Then your dd has her heart set on one pair of beautiful shoes but all that is left is ugly clompy shoes that she hates for the bargain price of £45.

Or...

You go into marks and Spencer’s, try on various shoes in the size you want (even half sizes) get real leather, durable, beautiful shoes for £26 and pick up the rest of the school uniform at the same time!

Unless you're in Scotland, where the schools have been back a fortnight already. Hmm
