Is it true that Longacre is closing? Wasn't it literally just bought by a group?

Spot on, the faux, “we were deeply saddened/we are here to help support you” narrative is disingenuous and I imagine quite insulting to families in that terrible situation. It would put me off completely. It makes Pennthorpe sound like they are rubbing their hands together, with pound signs flashing in their eyes.

That's surely because the current head used to teach at Longacre! So he will have known many of the families (esp. the children) personally.

Appalled. Match teas at Longacre used to consist of pasta with tomato sauce, cheese and a flapjack for the children. Now children are being given packets of crisps. Apparently Bridewell have cut the food budget. What have Bridewell done with all Longacre’s money? I wonder how the match teas at barrow hills and King Edwards’s are looking?!?!

@Refl1234 as a parent of barrow hills of course you’ll only see the shiny side…...I wouldn’t expect any parent there really cares as long as they are happy and thriving. It isn’t personal to barrow hills or kings Ed’s and you can bury your head in the sand as much as you damn well like…the bigger picture for me would be how could you trust the foundation now? But the plain facts are Bridewell have done the dirty big time, and they need to do the right thing and sell the school to the investors that have the finances and the drive and determination to make this school work. Perhaps then they can salvage their reputation and everyone can be happy. God knows what will happen if they don’t, but I can’t see it being positive…the truth will always come out in the end. It always does then there’s no going back..
