Do you have M&S uniform trousers for your boy?

Do you find them really short in the bum?

DS's backside is forever hanging out of his trousers. It's becoming a bit of an issue. All his trousers come from M&S (cos it seemed easy) and I'm wondering if that's the problem.

The length is right, but even if he pulls them up so he complains they're uncomfortable, they only just cover his backside.

anyone else have the same problem?

Yes, ds has the trousers (similar ones each year).

No issues with the fit though!

deepdarkwood · 14/01/2010 21:20

Have never had a problem - but I actually don't rate the quality of M&S boy trews - bobble faster than supermarket stuff imo

PfftTheMagicDragon · 14/01/2010 21:21

I have them. This is out first year at school and I have to say I am very unimpressed with M&S and their uniform. His polo shirts have shrunk in length and look very worn. The trousers are far too big in the waist and I have had to take them all in. They don't look very fitted either, just rather baggy and messy. I'll get them from somewhere else next year.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 14/01/2010 21:21

and yes, I have to keep debobbling them.

Lilyloo · 14/01/2010 21:22

The fit has been fine tbh , i also get adjustable wait and don't seem to have problem with bobbling.
However their polo shirts are rubbish imo and i don't buy them from there!

MrsMattie · 14/01/2010 21:22

Nah. Tesco and Asda for me . One term in and still looking good.

VinaigretteRien · 14/01/2010 21:26

That's odd.

No bobbling problem here.

Just seem so short in the backside!

What do you reckon to Next uniform?

BHS gets my vote - trousers have different fits, some elasticated, some not, DS wears blue polo shirts and they look the same now as back in Sept when I bought them. Can't say the same for the ones I bought in Matalan.

sandyballs · 14/01/2010 21:29

Next very good and not as expensive as you might think. I tend to get all my girls' stuff there now. Good quality and adjustable waist.

MrsDinky · 14/01/2010 21:32

We have the adjustable M and S ones, three pairs lasted all year last year, fitted fine but he has got a skinny backside.

coldtits · 14/01/2010 21:34

PEX best I've ever come across

NoahAndTheWhale · 14/01/2010 21:35

DS has adjustable waist M&S trousers and they are going well. He also has no bottom at all though so not bottom problems

Lonicera · 14/01/2010 21:37

My boys have the non adjustable, black M&S school trousers. Hard-wearing, no bobbling, good fit. I have bought them for years.

VinaigretteRien · 14/01/2010 21:38

I think I'm giong to have to drag him round a few shops and see if we can find some with a fairly high waist.

Poor DS, he's not going to enjoy that!

Lilyloo · 14/01/2010 21:39

my ds also a skinny minny reason for buying adjustable waist ones

Buda · 14/01/2010 21:42

Have had the M&S ones for 5 years now. No problems. No bobbling. No bum probs. Only issue is that he hates it that they have a zip now. Has adjustable waist ones as is so skinny.

bellavita · 14/01/2010 21:43

No bobbling here either. They fit lovely (have the adjustable waist ones) and wash really well.

Lonicera · 14/01/2010 21:46

my skinny ds1 hates adjustable waists as the buttons stick in to his sides, so I buy the non adjustable and put a tuck in the waistband.

howfunny · 14/01/2010 22:09

Yes, my DS has the same problem with his M&S school trousers - length is fine but not enough material in the bum. They don't even cover his pants and his bottom isn't particularly big.

islandofsodor · 14/01/2010 22:13

M & S are the only school trousers that are small enough for ds. I also found the quality very good.

bruffin · 15/01/2010 00:54

ds 14 has had them all his school life and never a problem with the trousers.

ihearttc · 15/01/2010 09:08

DS has got M&S trousers and his bum does sometimes hang out of them but tbh he's got a bit of a big tummy still and all his trousers/jeans sort of sit below that so I assumed it was just how all trousers fitted on him! Have no complaints about the quality of them though...DS is very hard on trousers (he is in reception so lots of time spent on the floor!) and they still look as new.

Next polo shirts are brilliant...ours haven't shrunk at all!

Whippet · 15/01/2010 09:11

Yes - DSs have had the M&S wool mix ones for 7 years now, and personally I tink they're fab, adn the only ones that
a) wear well
b)fit well

But they're tall & skinny, so that may be why?

No bobbling or bottom-showing here!

southeastastra · 15/01/2010 09:13

yes and saying that the womens knickers are rather short at the front too these days
