my Dc are older but I am a previous FH mum (boys and girls) so if you have any questions feel free to ask me :)
my daughter left last year after 11+ and my son the year before after 7+

just looking to meet the other kids who will be joining with my DD in September 2024. We will be away for most of the summer term so will not have that opportunity later

Lolakath19 · 29/01/2024 09:55

@jhoneon do you have any kids there?
why did you make you daughter sit the assessment (I assume this is the case as you say you are on the waiting list) if this is such an horrible school.. or do you want people not to take the offer so you DC can join?
where did you get that the girls cannot express enthusiasm?? This is completely untrue! My daughter lived her best life there and now that she has left for secondary wish she could have her FH teachers!

4plusdd · 29/01/2024 15:22

@FulhamToddlerMum congratulations on the offer! Have you accepted FH already?

FulhamToddlerMum · 29/01/2024 15:37

yes. do u have an offer?

OP posts:
4plusdd · 29/01/2024 16:06

We are still deciding between a couple of school offers including FH :)

FulhamToddlerMum · 29/01/2024 16:24

Oh nice, what are the choices? We are still waiting to hear from some, but FH the only one we really wanted, so have accepted already

@4plusdd Thanks for your reply.
For selectives, we have offers for DD from G, GHS and waiting for KP tmw too.
Towards top of FH waitlist, but heard about siblings too so not sure how much movement there will be.
Main concern about FH is lack of space inside/ outside and breadth of syllabus vs. other schools.
GHS has amazing internal facilities but outside space there is also poor.
G seems v progressive, with excellent facilities and great reputation for sports. I heard last week that the head mistress is leaving but they seem to have a clear plan for the replacement with governors, so I’m not worried about it.

RK20 · 30/01/2024 13:08

I wasn’t too keen on FH and based my decision entirely on my daughters gut instinct and she didn’t like it whereas other schools she came out of the assessments smiling and happy. In general i felt the staff and building itself very cold atmosphere.

88again · 30/01/2024 13:47

@RK20 DD experienced the same at some assessments too. Where did you get offers from this year? Do you/ DD have a favorite?

4plusdd · 30/01/2024 14:14

We had the opposite experience for FH- our daughter came out so happy and smiling from the assessment and we felt the place was very warm and nurturing.

We didn’t like G when we toured it - thought it was quite cold. My dd liked Glendower because of the purple uniform and the toy bear they gave her during the assessment LOL 😂

Have to agree the central London schools all lack space though

RK20 · 30/01/2024 15:12

We got an offer from Brighton college, Glendower and have Pembridge too. On waitlist for NLCS hoping for some movement on NLCS. Although I’m v happy with a Glendower too.

apparently we cannot express our true opinion because our comment will be deleted.
We cal only mentioned nice things about FK .

Namechanged998 · 30/01/2024 17:02

I wasn’t the one who reported the comments but you were basically making personal threats and hate speech against staff members and the school so I think it’s fair the comments are deleted. If you hate the school so much why did you even apply and was upset you are only wait listed. I don’t understand….

88again · 30/01/2024 20:05

@4plusdd @RK20 oh yes, the cuddly bear 🐻! … the chocolate and treats by post too… sure fire way to win over a 4yo! I think there’s a prospective parents visit tmw too.

Im holding out for FH offer, but even then not certain which way I’ll go in the end. They’re all great schools, just with different priorities - my favorite keeps changing!

4plusdd · 01/02/2024 09:46

@88again Yes my DD was most impressed with the package from G that had her name on it and the chocolates was a winner (for her)!

I just read one of your earlier comments earlier where you mentioned that FH's breadth of syllabus is less than other schools, would you be able to give some insight into this please? thank you

88again · 01/02/2024 10:18

@4plusdd - FH website ( parent info section) shows all the timetables from reception , it’s heavily English and Maths, with RE, Music, History of Art,Art, PE.
G has a greater variety; English, Maths, Computing, Yoga, Mandarin, French, Mindfulness, PE ( taken from classroom tour from the prospective parent open morning yday)
GHS has broader spread too.

88again · 01/02/2024 10:25

@4plusdd - Hope it’s useful in your decision making process!

happymum137 · 01/02/2024 11:57

Do you know if Glendower was sending chocolates in previous years? That’s such a sweet gesture

88again · 01/02/2024 12:29

@happymum137 tbh I’m not sure, it’s a nice differentiating touch as we endeavor to make a decision though.

are you trying to decide between offers at the moment?

2ddmum · 01/02/2024 16:24

Does anyone know if there has been any movement on the FH waitlist?
